So Im in WPG...

I landed in WPG Thursday morning and only had to put in a couple hours work that afternoon setting up. The group of us (3 guys, 3 girls) decided it was best to hit the local strip joint to christen our first night there.

After battling with a cab driver who tried to grossly overcharge us we ended up in Sin City. About 20 drinks deep later, and the bar closing, a couple local **** heads decide they are interested in the girls we brought and start acting pretty tough.

I was in WPG only a few hours and now Im in the parking lot of a strip joint about to fight 6 guys with only my two (pretty small) co-workers. Unreal town.

I ended up talking the guys into cooling down and seeing them on their way because it was really the only viable option at that point.

Anyways....apparently there is a YMCA not far from my hotel and when I get a rental on Monday Im gonna be heading there in the morning to do some lifting. Anyone on here lift there? Anyone on here go to any gyms in this area? Im right off Portage street I think its called.

Downtown Y is a bit of a stink pit but the equipment isn't bad. My favourite little gem of a gym downtown is the Assiniboine Athletic Club. Clean with a nice pool and hot tub.

My favourite Y is Winnipeg South. It's clean and about as good as it get's on the south side of the city. Not a bodybuilders hangout by any stretch of the imagination though.

I think the Shapes on Nairn is about the best in the East and it['s more of a bodybuilders gym and the Cindy Klassen Recreation centre in the West.

... I don't know if UofW has day passes but the also have a decent gym downtown.

6 on 2.....Yup sounds like the peg!!!!.....LOL, I love the city, but there is more violence and scraps there than anywhere ive ever lived, no exagerration, i lived in saskatoon, and regina, the next 2 worst in Canada,And all over this country of ours and the peg was way more so easy to get into a scrap back in the day....I have many close friends there as i grew up there, and they are damn near in 40s, and in mid 40s and they still scrap!!!lol, and think its cool...

The palamino isn't exactly my first pick of night clubs. Right now if I had to go to one it would probably be Level 2. Happily I don't have to go to one so that problem is solved. I'm told there is a jazz combo at the forks on thursday nights and that's more my speed.

I was REALLY drunk, but from what I remember all of the guys were white. I think.

There are a lot of first nations people out here, but they dont really seem to take any notice of me or my buddies at all. I walked into my local bar last night to be met with horrible glances from the local white guys. It was really ****ed up actually to see it happening so consistently for no reason. I know Im not imagining it either because the girls we were with noticed it also and said something to me.

I just wanna grab a workout as I havnt trained in like 3 days now. Someone msg me with a date we can meet up for a workout.

Also, I hadnt even picked up my luggage in the airport before I had a welt-like mosquito bite on my back. The bugs here are ruthlessssss!!!!

Yeah jazz, real funky....lolol....Only because i know a bit about jerseys personality did i say Palominos, its a fun bar, not much for tough guys and everyone likes to have fun and no starers there.....HAs have their own corner and no one really ****s around to much.....

I agree, the peg is much worse then hali...can't wait to get out of here, there are some really nice parts but most areas are pretty sketch after dark.

and #8 check out whiskey dicks, got some pretty good local talent there, dunno how it is during the week though

I haven't seen any really hot peelers in the peg. Although once you get around 16 ounces in you, they aren't too bad.

I had a GREAT time drinking with a guy I met there when we went to Tijuana Yacht Club. Huge bar with a cool theme going.

The girls I work with are all 9's or 10's. Minimum.

Nah, I didnt meet up with anyone. I only made it out to the gym once, and I barely had access to the internet while I was there to arrange any meetings.
