I know glutamine is a good supplement. However, I remember reading in a bodybuilding magazine some time ago that using glutamine through IV is more beneficial then eating it. This was stated by some doctor who was giving advice. He stated that some of the glutamine we eat is destroyed in GI tract and also that eating too much at a time can cause nausea.

I was wondering if anyone on the board has heard about this OR tried it.

Havent tried it and i doubt anyone here has or will....But glutamine peptides are supposedly better for absorption...I just recvd mine from trueprotein, and have yet to try them out...Doubt i will notice much of a difference really, but im going to be adding 5-10 grams to meals and shakes through the day at each meal.....Just to see...

I've been consuming close to 50g+ of glutamine per day for the last month and have never had any issues with nausea. Although I've been adding it to my water so it's been constant throughout the day from morning to night and throughout the night, slow and steady. Some days I am actually getting closer to 100g of glutamine believe it or not.

I found 2kg of it, and I was regularly mixing in the blue rasberry flavored glutamine, so I figured, may as well use it up now...I am sure now is the time my body needs it most. Whether it does anything is debatable. But I figured it can't hurt.

Thanks for the info giuys. The doctor was Dr. Serrano, some Puerto rican MD who is fascinated with supplements. The article was from Robert Kennedy's MuscleMag.

I find glutamine is a huge waiste of money. I`d spend the money on bcaa`s instead. Even the disgusting ass peptides didn`t deliver any of the promised effects of glutamine.
