Question about BCAA's when preparing for a show... good idea or no?
the people i have spoken to say no.. but their not natural, it seems to me they may slow down fat loss somewhat due to them being a ready fuel for the body, but would they also aid in preserving muscle?

some people find BCAAs taken during workouts and post workouts during cutting helps recovery and that they help preserve muscle, if your training sessions are over the hour mark you might what to keep taking them. i'd only take them when working out/post workout though

My thinking was it's because they elevate insulin. I used to do around 20-30g's bcaa's from xtend sipped on during my workout.

If your diet is good and you are getting adequate protein especially whey then you are taking in plenty of BCAA's...there is no need for additional BCAA's...especially before or during cardio they are extra calories that will slow fat loss.

My BCAA do not mix well at all. So many little chunks no matter how much a shake they dont disolve in....is this normal? cause its annoying, not that big a deal i guess, but annoying none the less

Yah IW hit the nail on the head. BCAAs have extremely poor solubility in water. But either teaspoon it and chug water or drink it real quick and deal with the taste. I like Scivation XTENd for BCAAs but for 50bucks a pound instead of 20 at TS i just deal with the horrible taste and hack it down.

I don't use BCAA's too often but when I do, I stir them in with a 1/4 cup of all natural probiotic yogurt.
