The two primary areas that define sociopaths are selfish and insensitive exploitation of others and an unstable, antisocial lifestyle. The test provided covers both of those areas quite well IMO. That said, one must know how to read what the questions are attempting to uncover.

If you did the test right, giving 0 if it does not apply, 1 if it applies partially, and 2 if it is a perfect match, then I don't know what to tell you besides do it again and read/answer very carefully but honestly.

I answered 2 on most questions. I really took my time to make sure each was a perfect fit. I actually thought and I`m serious here that rating most of the question`s a 0, would label me a psycho, but still answered each question 100% honest.

I would have some concerns around most of the areas you rated a 2 Ritch. Are you honestly a pathological liar with feelings of grandiosity, no empathy, and living a parasitic lifestyle? I don't really see that, unless you are very good at hiding your true self behind the keyboard.

I`d really like for some others to take that test and post their scores. I almost think you`re pulling my leg, just to make sure I`m telling the truth. A liar would have said, "No, I didn`t mean those answers, this is what I meant..."

The question though I thought was the toughest though was the first. I gave it a 2, but for sure I wouldn`t rate it 1. So in the end my score would be very similar. But the others were kinda easy to say, "yeah, that`s exactly how I am"

You are right Nate, essentially how we respond to our impulses is what's important. The thing with psychopaths and sociopaths is that the "dysfunction" generally arises as a response to extreme abuse or trauma during childhood. Essentially the characteristics are adopted as coping mechanisms by some children and remain throughout their entire life. They are damaged beyond repair.

We all have a darkside. Those of us that are reasonably healthy can muse about the thoughts that arise from that part of ourselves, socio and psychopaths on the other hand consider acting on those impulses to be perfectly acceptable.
