okay im running this poll as im bored and wanted to see peoples fave of all time, please bare in mind i only had 10 slots to fill and used the usual suspects as everyone has there bizarre/not many people have heard of favourite.if it aint on the list tell us who and why?

me personally im gonna say dorian.yes hes british but thats not why i picked him.he come from a real rough life and with no coach, guru, prep guy, internet whatever learned the good old fashioned way by trial and error what worked and at a time when brits wernt really wanted (joe weider said to dorian that he didnt want a guy from england on the olympia stage!thats was until he saw him in person) and went on to be a 6 x olympia and never became a media whore.he just trained all year in relative obscurity then showed up competition time and did the job.my brother lives round the corner to temple gym and everytime im there i go and pay dorian a visit and the guys the most serious, intense guy ever but he doesnt show it,he just has this aura that what he says you know itll work

ronnie a close second because he just raised the bar on genetics!!

The greatest bodybuilder ever is Coleman no doubt, but my favorite is Sergio Olivia. I went to one of his seminars and the guy blew me away, not just with his utter hugeness, but also with his honesty and forthrightness. He had such an impact that I still use most of what he taught us to this day and simply put, it works. :)

His routine is below. Keep in mind he is a genetic freak so the amount of volume should only be done by similar genetic freaks. You can see 5 x 5 was an integral part of his training. Also, when asked about form he replied "Do you think I'm going to curl 200 lbs with strict form?" From his point of view, there's nothing wrong with controlled momentum or cheating as others would term it. :)

Arnold for the pure majesty of his physique.Dorian very close.Mentzer.Coleman no way because of the sheer size of his belly. It can't be overlooked.Sergio pretty awesome in his day.

That routine would not work for me I don't think. lol Working arms (bi's tri's) like that the day after bench and chins just show what a genetic freak he was in my opinion. Not a bad routine though. I didn't know anyone was doing push/pull back in the day.

Arnold did and Dorian took over from Arnold. Coleman didn't add anything that Dorian hadn't already done so Arnold and Dorian are mine.

you forgot bob paris.

so ...

Not Shawn Ray, Jay Cutler, Kevin Levrone or Flex Wheeler.

Haney, Dorian, and Coleman represent the best of the modern mass monster. I'd have to pick Ronnie from this pile.

Arnold stands alone but not as a bodybuilder.

Sergio, Zane, Paris ... I'd pick Paris even though he was flamer and not on the list. The guy had the physique of a greek god.

Maybe, but Bannout was even more symmetrical and greek god like.

mike mentzer all the way. not the biggest or baddest ass guy, but he had the perfect symmetry and proportion IMO.

Arnold was king of being thick and skinny. Any of the guys with turtle belly's now just ruin the sport.

no, their huge guts comes from hard work, a clean diet, and lots of sleep. everyone knows that. GH doesnt even make you bigger....only food and sleep does.

I had to go back to 1991 for a Ronnie without a gut. His midsection wasn't all that great even then.

Thanks for the vid. I much enjoy the bodybuilders of that era/size to todays based solely on looks.

I enjoy the freaks too but they do not look better in my opinion.

Once a person gets to a certain size its almost as if their muscles start to overlap each other. lol

I think Gironda, and maybe Labrada claimed that heavy squats would make your gut bigger.

Dorian is king...nobody touched his combination of mass and hardness...Coleman was huge and I am a definite Ronnie fan...but not quite th conditioning of Dorian. Not to mention Dorian did it all on his own.

I don't think anyone has been able to match Arnie's contribution to the sport. So as far as bodybuilding is concerned, I say Arnie is the greatest.

The great bodybuilder for me is Mr. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Because he definitely made an impact on bodybuilding, as both a personality and with his physique. I really idolized him!
