Hey guys, over the past 10ish months I've been getting really involved in fitness/dieting and training methods. This first picture was taken at the beginning of January this year. 5'9, 190. The second one was taken last weekend, just shy of 5 months later. 5'9 205. I know it's not much but I'm really proud of it considering I got a decent mini-bulk in and am in the process of cutting down still. About mid-July I'll be going on a new program and possibly a few others depending on the effectiveness of them, and my year long goal will be to finish off at about 220-225 and fairly lean at about 9-10%.

Very good results! Your next goal of 220 to 225 at 10% that quick might be a bit lofty. If you accomplish it in that time please post pics. I'll be shocked for sure.

yeah,i agree with japh, set smaller goals then you wont beat yourself up.for instance you said you've ONLY made a gain of 15 pounds.dude 15 pounds in 5 month aint bad considering your looking a lot leaner at 205 so you've probably put on more muscle than 15 pnds due to the fat you lost.seriously tho well done on your progress so far, keep up the good work, goals come faster with consistency

Thanks a million boys. I've been telling buddies I'm aiming for 220-225, but I'll be satisfied with 215 cut, or even 220 @ 12-13. I mean I can always go a few extra months if it's just for the cut.

Progress is measured in years in this sport. Diet, training genetics aside consistency over time trumps them all. No hurry just keep doing what you're doing.

Nice job, but like the others said, 225 at 5`9 is no easy task. And really doubt you can get there in one year. I`m 5`11 and have been at this for a long time and even 215 cut, is out of reach for me drug free... But enjoy the process and good luck with your goals.

Thanks guys, what would you say is a reasonable goal for 12-15 months ?

try not to look at it in that long of a time period, try say a 3 month goal of a few pounds.dont become obsessed with your weight either.if your nutrition is sound and the weights in the gym are going up then the gains will come.if i was you i wouldnt put much emphasis on cardio either, your quite lean so maybe just do 2 or 3 sessions medium intensity a week.i dont do any in the off season, just walking my dog and only add it in my pre contest when my metabolism slows down.keep us posted on the progress bro

I agree with ricco, small goals will keep you motivated in the "long" run...always remember...it's not a sprint it's a marathon ;)

all the best bro

Okay so you're saying take my long term goal and break is down into 3-4 smaller goals and knock them down one at a time ? Seems more of my style to be honest, it's how I've been going for the last 2 years. Only this summer is when I started getting hard into the actual weight training. I took a lot from Rosstraining and his books cause I enjoyed improvising with working out haha.

Yeah, thank god, my abs and chest seem to be the hardest to get noticeable gains, I'm satisfied with my bis, tris, delts and back though, so I can't complain. Thanks for all the positivity everyone, means a ton !

Ricco, I agree, thanks for the tip. It makes more sense anyways, more small goals > one large one, this way I won't get bored either, not that it's common for me to be bored while training.

everyone gets bored at sometime bro,it repetitive as hell but if you get to a sticking point try taking a week off,you will come back even more focused and full of enthusiasm
