Has anyone used tums as a preworkout lactic acid buffer? I feel like these would be especially useful on a leg day, in conjunction with some creatine monohydrate.

Not sure how it would work .

Can you explain ?

I don't think Acid reflex or heart burnt isn't the same as lactic acid , but I could be wrong. Just never heard of that before.

One guy I used to play hockey with told me at the NCAA division I level they actually test for antacids as they are a "performance enhancer" lol.

Im assuming that if one is not suffering from acid reflux, and is resistance training very heavy the antacids will go to work in the bloodstream where they are needed; ie. the nearest muscle group full of lactic acid.

This is my logic at work, combined with word of mouth from a few sources. Does this make sense to anyone?

You would be best to try a product like Alka Seltzer tabs or Enoz, what you want is sodium or potassium bicarbonate. Be careful of the other ingredients some of the formulas have aspirin, pseudo-ephedrine, etc...
