impressive but are people really surprised? It's been spilling 5000+ barrels of oil a day for close to 7 weeks now. I'm shocked it's not bigger!

So tell me how we have the technology to put people in space, fix satellites, Hubble, etc with high tech tools , equipment and training but somehow can't stop this? Unfrigging believable!

Its because its such a money generating well....they could have done that top-down push they were speaking of early in the leak and capped it....but once you mud and concrete a hole, its become very near impossible to go back in the same way....either way, they'd have to drill a whole new well....which cost BIG $$$$$$$$!!!!
look at how much it has leaked and it STILL going...I haven't seen the barrel prediction on it, but I imagine its quiet significant.....hence the reluctance to "kill the hole" as they say
