In all honesty, all of the decent horror films are from the 70s-80s. Like Alien, The Shining, The Exorcist, Dawn of the Dead, The Thing.

The genre seems to have died out. It's either soap opera vampires or friday the 13 part 57. Good horror and science fiction both seem to have taken a beating in the last few years.

I agree on the first two but Seven was far too predictable.
Not really a horror movie, more suspense, but I liked Shattered.

The best monster movie I saw was a korean movie called The Host. Not really that scary but amazing and very well done.
