On the flip side, instead of inferring that if we stopped helping the unemployed "we" would be better off, lets start attacking the underground economy and ensuring everyone pays their fair share of taxes. I am sure this would drastically reduce the taxes the majority of the middle class has to pay and certainly would have more of an impact than pointing the finger at employment insurance and welfare.

As for the Soccer rule, it kind of makes sense to me for children at a certain stage of development and learning, but of course once kids progress to a more competitive level the rule would seem abused at first glance.
