Has anyone tried John Berardi's tactics for eating? Carbs revolved around training, fats for the rest of the day.

Says I have to eat atleast 4300 cals to grow!

This seems like too much food for a natural guy to take in without getting fat. Thoughts??

i tried this out about 2 years ago, but that was a time where my eating wasn't really solid, might have to give this a try in a more structured way... lets hear some opinions

I`ve never plugged in numbers to his formulas but like London Muscle I`ve been a fan of carbs around pre and post workout. You get the best of both worlds without suffering all that much.

It says I need 6600 calories. That's just crazy.

definately too high lol, even on juice. most of those cals would have to come from protein + fat without getting fat i would think. 1g fat = 9 cals where as 1g protein = 4 cals same with carbs. jeeez

I can gain on 3000. although, at this point, I would gain on 2000 calories if I stopped cardio. Depending on how fat or lean you are, I don't think you need to eat 4300 calories unless you want to gain more fat than necessary to make the slow and steady gains you should be striving for.

I followed ME to a tee for over year back in the day, it was meant to help hard gainers gain some mass and believe me it worked well. JB is a genius when it comes to nutrition. Any questions around his advice are best answered directly by him, and I am sure his answers would be enlightening.
