It's been a long time since I've used nsaids. Ice is my anti-inflammatory of choice.

My wrist was nagging me today while I was shopping so I broke down and figured I'd pick up a bottle of ibuprophen to see if it might help.

What do I see for sale on the shelf but Aleve. I missed the part where it became otc in canada. Anyhow... I bought a bottle and took 3.

30 minutes later the inflammation in my wrist is 50% and mostly tolerable.

I still believe nsaids are generally a bad idea but naproxen worked in a pretty freaky impressive way on the wrist.

It's not going into my post workout recovery pack but for really annoying days where shit hurts I'm impressed.

Yeah , I'm going to pick some up tomorrow and see if it helps my hands and even maybe my elbow.

Like most nsaids I figure it probably helps spots where there is adequate blood flow more then those where there isn't. The wrist has settled down nicely. I've got it taped for the night. The shoulder tendon didn't respond nearly as dramaticly to the drug.

I know I shouldn't have to say it but.... Don't get all stupid and start using it to mask the symptoms so that you can go and beat the shit out of it some more. Yes, we need to get inflammation down so the injury can heal so the nsaids can be justified for first aid. But don't go using them as a training crutch. You know better.

I've still yet to see it on any shelves around here.
