View Full Version : Threw up in the gym

So i just got back home from the gym and what a workout, I walked into the locker room and this was not planned i see my buddy who is a national level bodybuilder.
As were talking he mentions that he`s training legs so was i, so we start with hams, then we move to squats then pause squats, then we go to these hell lunges which are 24 steps with the 60lb dumbbells then 24 steps with the 30lb dumbbells with no rest, after the first set i was dead my lungs were on fire and i could barley walk so we do another set and now i just running off his fuel, then we move to seated one legged press first set went for 20reps a leg with a plate then 2 plates for 12 reps a leg then 3 plates.
Now i tell him im going to throw up and he`s says "it's all mental" and to go for a walk, so i do and i ended up laying down with my feet up and things got alot worse from there i started getting cold sweats and my WHOLE body got numb, after about 5min i start throwing up on the ground cause i couldn't move the worse feeling that i have ever had i thought i was going to die..lol
I thought i trained legs hard before, i guess from now on next time i train with him im going to have to carry a garbage can around. But what a great workout.
Any of u experience this before?

i have one buddy who pukes after quite a few of our MMA training sessions... acctually quite a few people puke from that.... i have come close from lifting weights but never acctually puked.. congrats bud!!

Ive puked on leg day but after the workout, and it was only once. Got so dizzy and light headed next thing I knew I was puking in the toilet

Congratulations you have just experience a form of lactate (lactic acid) training. I do that two times a week but the real deal for sprinting :)

Ive puked on leg day but after the workout, and it was only once. Got so dizzy and light headed next thing I knew I was puking in the toilet
The puking did not bother me i could have finished my cardio, but the cold sweats and the numbness was crazy my body was freezing and numb at the same time i couldn`t even move so i just puked on the floor, after lying down for like 30min i had to clean all the puke.

I seen ya laying down and im like shit hes looking like hes gonna puke. Steve comes upstairs hes like oh ya he did it. It was to hilarious watching them mop it up and put out the wet floor sign.hahaha. He was proud of you tho man honestly. You guys killed it 110%. Your getting lean too man quicK!

Yeah gotta admit we were poking a little fun but damn you guys were giving it on legs...when we finished legs i didn't puke but i did cramp both tear drops at the same time. Nearly fell down the stairs. lol Gotta LOVE leg day.

I was jealous you had such a great workout. I never truthfully threw up (spit up but not actual throw up) so maybe im not as hardcore as you. Honestly tho you killed that workout and its going to pay off big time. Talk about a total muscle shock to give ya cold sweats and everything like that. Crazy how the body reacts to stuff like that.

I love to do legs because there are the muscles group that demand the most..but I never puke in the gym...maybe one time I hope!^^..because day after day, my legs training are more hardcore than the other!:)
Thurday, it was the first time I was sore like that, my legs was shakings..I can't just stand up in front of the toilet and when I hit a pose, It was difficult to didn't fall into the ground hahaha!
and big headhace after.but no cold like you!..^^

Thanks to DK, as u know he did my bulking phase and got me up to 215lbs, so i decided to go back to him and man dieting has been going smoothly i lost 15lbs in 3 weeks so far with his guidance with very minimal cardio.

And it's showing already...you can really see it in your face. The abs...well of course they're the last thing to get peeled but no worries at least you'll be ripped at a respectable weight, can't wait to get you on stage too with your killer genetics.

One time I threw up at the gym, then tried to continue my workout and threw up again, and almost fainted. Damn I hate leg day.

last leg workout before i went to cuba on leg press i puked and passed out good times aha, started off with 20 minutes of leg extensions, squats, hacks, went on to leg press and were doing 8 set drop sets. my eyes went red, blew a bunch of blood vessels in my neck, puked and passed out for a sec, then i couldnt hear anything for about 5 minutes. that was a ****ed up workout and still finished with ham curls

How can one train so hard and still avoid overtraining ? I'm still on the search for that perfect workout where after every body part I'm ready to blow chunks, but I'm really nervous about the whole overtraining concept.

Rest, recover, blast/cruise, undulating periodization, deloading, sleep, foam rolling, stretch, prehab, diet, low inetnsity, crosstraining, suplementation research them all and experiment.
For me what works is no more than 2 WO days in a row an no more than 3 resting days in a row, I need to sleep 8 to be able to recover

i dont know if i think thats mega hardcore or mega crazy!!either way bet it was a coke and mentos moment haha
