Ok so you wouldnt know by looking outside today at the 4 inches of snow, and more still coming. But I am wondering where in Alberta is good to camp? I know of the normal places like Jasper, Banff, Sylvan Lake. But does anyone know of any other good place one can camp with a dog??

I don't go in for the whole campground scene, but some of my favorite areas in the crown land are:

Burnt Timber / Ya Ha Tinda - out by Sundre
Black Stone Provincial Park, Wapiapi Caves - out by Nordegg
Medicine Lake Area - West of Rimbey

For actual campgrounds:

Twin Lakes - Near Rocky Mountain House
Two o'Clock Creek - Nordegg
David Thompson Resort - Nordegg

Kananaskis Country is nice too if you can put up with the MEC type douchebags.

Two O'Clock Creek is probably the nicest spot before you hit the Banff park boundary.

I would also recommend either Jackfish Lake, Fish Lake, or Goldeye, all amazing spots.
