Well.. after 8 years together, Leigh and I are happy to announce we have finally taken the big step and have adopted a baby!!!

She is 3 weeks old, the cutest little thing I've ever seen, (well except for my daugher when she was a baby).. all furry and brown with a white face and white feet!! OH.. we didn't adopt a milano kid from africa like Madonna or any other famous dyke... WE GOT A PUPPY!!!!

she is a boxer cross (i suspect the sire might be staffordshire terrier, however, there is a law against the breed in winnipeg so i'm just telling everyone she is a boxer cross) and we are going to visit her today!!

NICEEEEEEEEEEE...sounds like a cool looking pup. I wish to god we could get a dog but everyone at home is allergic. I hope it brings you guys lots of joy and companship and maybe even accompany you on some outdoor cardio!

Thanks Tavi!! ill post a pic when I get MY computer back (typing on my kid's netbook.. lol its so small) And Yeah.. she is going to be a runner!! lol.. im excited to do cardio just thinking about walking her!! we have a railway track (pretty much abandoned) out the back of my house with a park and walkway that goes for a few miles.. can get right to the river trail from there.. I'm so excited to take her exploring!! lol.. I even scoped out off leash parks and started landscaping the yard up to make a dog run for her!!
the only thing im a little nervous about is we get her exactly one week out from provincials... might be a little hard prepping that last week with a new puppy!!

I'm such a puppy dork!! I started collecting puppy stuff already!! and I had like 25 minutes to kill yesterday, so instead of looking at shoes (like I would NORMALLY do).. I went to the pet store and looked at dog stuff!

and lol... the glasses really help with things like driving and seeing where I am going and who I am talking to! (might be why I don't get stage fright! I can't see anyone past the first row!)

Over the past 10 years I have aquired/rescued 3 cats.. I;m a little nervous about the cat/puppy introduction, but we have a whole room which can be sectioned off from the rest of the house, so I think if we keep the Puppy in there until the cars get comfortable with her, it might be ok.

Anyone have any advice on a smooth Cat/Puppy relationship??
