Saw this black dude come onto the gym floor and roll to the shoulder press where he proceeded to put 225lbs on the bar. Sat down, lifted it up and proceeded to behind the neck press for 15-20 reps. I lost count cause I had to do my own set.

Next he loads 315 on the bar, waits a few mins then comes asks me for a spot. Not because he needed a spot for the weight but so he could simply unrack it because as we all know, shoulder press setups suck. So I help him with the lift and he bangs out 8 reps.

Then he puts 335 on the bar and does 3 reps then drops back down to 315 again and does 6 reps.

I am not easily impressed by things in the gym but THAT seriously impressed me and what I found more impressive was the dude isn't that big. He's built for sure but not mamoth like you'd expect for someone doing that kind of weight.

Turns out he used to compete in strongman events. Well, it showed! lol

Unreal

Crazy, just shows how much strength can be physiological and not necessarily just muscle mass.

impressive for sure but i wonder if some people are just better at doing that exercise? i could usually do 12 easy reps with 225 and 315 for a couple at a body weight of 185-190 and i was far from disciplined when it came to training. couldnt do 225 to the front either.

lol, my training was so stupid i could bench 405 but couldn't deadlift it. a wasted youth.

Certainly impressive at that bodyweight.
