View Full Version : Finger or hand wraps of some sort?

kloan

My left hand is becoming strained... left index and middle finger, near the main knuckles.

I think it happened either with seated rows (handles) or shrugs. Either one puts a lot of strain on the fingers, so I guess they got a little over worked last workout.

Are there wraps of some sort that I can use to help temporarily strengthen the grip so that hand is being worked less strenuously for a while?

WHy dont you wear straps?

i do for shrugs... they seem to fit a little strange though, kind of force my hands to position on an angle.

never tried using them with seated rows.. never needed them.

maybe im over reacting but it just seems like any time i post up asking for advice for some sort of injury or lingering pain people get on my case and make me feel like i dont know what im doing... i just dont appreciate that. for whatever reason, i get strains n pains.. cant be avoided. maybe i make it sound worse than it is and that gives you guys the impression im training through bad injuries and making things worse for myself, but im not. i wouldn't do that.. i can tell the difference between whats serious and whats minor. its also probably because it seems like thats the only type of threads i start these days, but thats only because those are the challenges im facing recently and im trying to learn tricks or tips, etc from people who have these kinds of things as well. maybe i am a trainwreck. whatever... i think maybe from now on i just wont post these threads anymore because its obviously giving people a bad impression of me and i get way too defensive.

You don't post for advice you whine about your problems which are many and no all are physical.

You say you can't afford rehab which is ok but then turn around talk about shit you buy, supplements etc. People who can't afford to get healthy shouldn't be buying crap that's not needed.

Start being a man and taking control of your life and problems.

There's a reason you're on my ignore list Nate. It's because whenever you respond to me it's bullshit.

This latest post is no exception.

Since when is asking about things I can do to help with pain and/or injuries whining? Plenty of people on here post similar questions, yet I'm the one that gets constantly berated. Why is that? Do you not like the way my questions are asked, or are you simply biased towards certain individuals?

What shit are you referring to that I talk about that I buy? Aside from protein powder, I haven't bought supplements in months. I think you're confusing me with someone else.

The only things I've bought have been out of necessity to help with my blood pressure and cholesterol. These are more important than 'rehab' at this point. I've said it a dozen times, but I'll say it again so maybe your squinty little judgemental eyes can see: IT'S NOT TIME FOR REHAB YET, MY SO-CALLED INJURIES ARE NOT SEVERE (not that I'm waiting for them to be, but they are very minor and can wait).

I don't know why I even bother responding to you because it's like trying to convince a wall it's a river.

As always, thanks for your useless contribution and reminding me why you're on my ignore list.

On that note, bye everyone.

Whine whine. You are a useless contributor to this forum. You offer no value being here other than a 5'6 midget whose on gear and probably can't bench his own bodyweight without the gear.

You are a mental case. You blame your genetics for lack of results and your blame bunk gear (don't think I don't know about your whining about that). Maybe start looking at your loser unemployed, physically useless and mentally handicapped self.

You're a Moron and Im happy you have me on ignore so I can finally say that shit I want instead of trying to play nice with your dumb ass.

my account hasn't been deleted yet, so i'll say something real quick... though I have to crouch really, really low to get to your level here:

YOU'RE A ****ING ASSHOLE NATE. I HOPE YOU DIE A SLOW, PAINFUL DEATH YOU ****ING PIECE OF SHIT.

You're a broken, pathetic excuse for a human being. What were you molested as a kid? Were you beat with the stupid stick? Poor, pathetic little man you are. Make you feel big putting people down? You have no idea who I am, or what I'm capable of. What do you know about me? Small, insignificant tidbits I post anonymously on a forum? You're ****ing clueless. Lack of results?? Man are you ever a ****ing moron. I've made HUGE results in a year. Probably better than you did your first year training. Oh but it's gear right? ****ing hypocrite. Which is it? Training and eating or gear? Back and forth you go, don't know which way's up. Tiny little brain, with an even smaller respect for other human beings. You'll never be as big as your ego.

So long ****ER. You really are this biggest **** head I've come across in a long time. Really... be sure to get hit by a bus or something, OK? Ok... bye bye shiteater.

I new this guy, worked with him for years, he too had a huge ego (and was also very insecure at the same time, weird). He'd ramble on for hours how he didn't have an ego, used to keep the crew in stitches for days on end. He was an older gent as well who used to date younger girls. I never could figure it out why these girls would go out with this guy. I mean he was decent looking and all but still, girls usually like to date boys, right?

I happened to bring it up with my wife one night and she just laughed. "Thats easy" she said, "a woman see's right through him".. Poor bastard is all i could think..

He'd also consider himself a "leader", yet he'd look down his nose at what he would consider a lesser man.. You know, the guy who does manual labour, makes less money than he does. I'd tell him not everyone aspires to lead, some are quite happy putting in their 8hr. day and go home to the family. He'd just respond with something to the effect " i make in one day what they make in a week!!"..... Leader quality? Hardly!

As big as his ego was though he desperately craved approval. When an issue came up he'd always point out that so and so also agreed with what he said. I used to ask him what it mattered what anyone else thought, i mean you either believe in yourself or you don't, right?

He also had anger issue's, used to brag how he had to go to anger management twice. I never did figure out what that ment. Who knows where that stemmed from.. Kinda reminded me when i was a kid liveing at home. We had this chicken coop, now when one chicken has an injury or is weak in any way the other chickens would attack it and keep on attacking untill it either died or you removed it from the pen. They would literally peck at it for days on end. Natural selection? maybe, but i think we've evolved beyound that, haven't we??

On paper: A guy has a problem and asks an online community for advice. Advice is given and OP goes about his merry way. <This doesn't seem too bad, right?

In reality: Every 2-3 weeks this guy starts a thread with titles like "Can't move my neck again", "Blood pressure through the roof", "Hurt my back so bad I can barely sit and type this thread title out", etc.

He asks an online community for advice each time and gets proper advice from guys who know what's up, but ignores them and prods his thread along till he hears what he wants to hear from somebody who doesn't know shit.

From a general gleaning of his posts we can deduce that he's a tad on the small side, a lot on the juiced-up side, and generally doesn't know how to lift properly (even though he seems to think he does). The guys who have tried to help in the past get fed up and ignore leaving only the one or two guys who don't know shit to reply to these threads which then creates poor search material for newbs.

Nate pipes up (because that's what he does) and gets crucified for it. <This scenario is ****in' retarded.

When I read this thread by Kloan yesterday I felt like I was all done with this place. It's ridiculous to know that guys like this will dismiss appropriate advice THAT WILL ADD LONGEVITY TO HIS TRAINING LIFE in favor of some BS that he wants to hear so he can stay on his sauce, ruin his health and break his body more.

That's all I have to say about that.

Wow, dude you seem to always be a complete train wreck and you refuse to take time to heal, I commend you on your undying passion to the sport. I am sure that when you look back on these days 10 years from now as a crippled up gym geezer there will be some memories, and you can pass on to the young bucks the stories how you completely ****ed your body up for no particular reason at all except being "hard core". You might want to listen to some of the older guys, they will tell you how they wished they let things heal when they were still young. But then again, what do I care, I dont even know you.

I was going to give him green for this statement , but I guess he's gone.
