Sooo....I can't believe I'm asking this but.... i got a couple dates coming up, and I have to go to some classy clubs. They have a dress code, loafers only no laces, nothing baggy etc but I have no idea what's "in" and I don't want to fall into the douchebag category. I usually just wear hurley and dc. So where the hell would I shop(what stores and brands) for dress shirts, loafers, nice jeans etc. Dress me boys. Ladies feel free to chime in.

loafers only and no lace up shoes? wtf kind of place you going to?

Can't go wrong with a dark pair of blue jeans, a button down shirt with collar and a sport jacket. Easy and casual plus it will work with those no lace up shoes.

im assuming that loafers rule refers to no sneakers, athletic shoes, etc. I think a pair of dress shoes with laces would have to be alright. Besides that a nice pair of loafers with that attire would look cool anyways. Im cheap so im more of a Geuss of Abercrombie and Fitch shopper. hahaha. cant afford the real pricey stuff and Geuss has some nice jeans. Expensive but nice.

^ Exactly, just means you need to be wearing Mens footwear not shit kids wear at recess.

My suggestion is take a girl shopping with you, chicks dig doing shit like that and its a pretty laid back casual thing to do with someone new or just take a female friend.

Don't most clubs with dress codes frown upon jeans? I know when I went to some upscale clubs wearing jeans I had to grease a few palms to get in and then I felt like a giant dumbass being the only one in jeans.

If you're gonna get dressed up, why not just go all the way and look good from top to bottom? H&M has some decent stuff at reasonable prices.

nothing wrong with $400 Hugo jeans lol

As long as you look the part with a complete package - pants, shirt, jacket you can get away with jeans.

Who knows though. High-end clubs can blow me. Full of pretentious snobs who *think* they're something

Jeans are not dress clothes no matter how much you pay for them.

A pair of black lace up dress shoes with black socks.
A pair of black or grey wool slacks with cuffs
A black belt.
A nice dress shirt (not white) and not some guido shit.

Men's casual dress is pretty simple.

Tie and Jacket is usually a no if you're under 35. I on the other hand would either go with a nice italian cut suit or a simple tux but I'm old and pretentious. ... and I have a closet full of suits I haven't worn in a few years.

No one said jeans are dress clothes but complimented with the right attire they can pass for dressy.

This is kinda the look I'm going for. Long sleeve button down with blue jeans.

Here's the dress code from the website. Sorry I got mixed up about the no laces thing.

no runners of any kind (puma, diesel, nike, etc.)
no work or hiking boots
no hats of any kind
no jerseys, flannel or sweats
no t-shirts with offensive logos
no tank tops or athletic wear
no baggy, oversized or ripped clothing.

Depends, on your age, size and how much you want to spend.

Don't know where you live, if it's Toronto, places like Brant House with a dress code just require a collar, no ripped jeans, and no runners. But, maybe I'm not high end enough... never been to a 'club' that required full on dress clothes - I'm assuming it's not a gala/fundraiser, something like that.

So dress shirt (short sleeve okay if it's warm out or long sleeve), jeans okay if they are stylish and dark, casual shoes okay if they're not white and not runners. sport coat always looks good.

If you're not sure you can always call and they will tell you the dress code.

Cuffed pants are out in any event.

Diesel makes great jeans, although 4/5 styles are too tight in the thigh for me. The loose fitting ones are okay. Guess makes nice jeans too and they are bigger in the thighs.

Armani Exchange has some great shirts <$100 - probably just look about one size up from what you're used too.

I suck with shoes.

PS I agree with Danger - take a girl shopping with you. She'll like it more than you and she can do most of the work finding stuff :)

I'm in the niagara falls area. I tried using the store locators on the websites for gucci and other brands but everything is in T.O. I'm not driving to T.O to buy a shirt. I think there is a guess store near me as bigtavi mentioned. Not sure about Le chateau or MEX

If your mall has a bootlegger they have some good deals on nice jeans. For shirts I would say go with a dark colour, maybe a dark red, blue or black. Dont tuck it in all the way or not at all. But make sure it fits nice. You should be able to find a nice shirt at any higher end store for guys.

Also take along a female friend, trust me we love it when guys ask for fashion help :)

check out holt renfrew, harry rosen, boy's co (not sure if you have this place near you, and becareful what you get i heard the staff switches items with fakes).

Go for a white button down shirt and dark blue jeans and dark colored sports jacket.

Also rather than getting a bunch of guys opinions, hit the mall and ask some girl(s) to dress you up. Good chance you'll get another date out of it.

The problem with black pants and a white shirt in an upscale night club is that people will keep trying to order drinks from you. Look like a guests not the help.

That`s perfect. He can make them pay upfront, then take off with the money!

But fashion is not something I can give good advice on. I just know what I hate. Shit like American Apparel, the ultimate in doucheness...

But mexx may be a good place to go. An ex of mine bought me a nice button type shirt. It was my "good shirt" for a long time, lol. But a nice pair of jeans should get you in most clubs. As long as they fit nicely, and don`t have holes they should be fine. So that with a nice shirt that has buttons, tie not necessary I`d say with a pair of clean shoes should do it. Do you have a "America" store? Kinda nice and dressy. Simon`s is a very good place guys. I always find something nice there and it`s not too expensive.

Whatever you do, you gotta feel confortable with what you`re wearing.

If you have a good eye you can buy a ton of stuff at the Bay.

Make sure that your shirt has some spandex on it or you will feel confined.

Don't dress in black head to toe if you are not going to a funeral, black pants + white shirt = waiter, black pants = Black shirt = catering staff.

Winners, Mexx, Banana Republic, Zara are some of the places that you may buy stuff. If you live in Toronto pm me and I'll tell you where you can buy EVERYTHING in one place and look good without breaking the bank.

Jacket = if you are going to a dinner or fundraiser
Tie = Wedding or high end function

NightClub = dress accordingly to the club.

I'm in niagara falls. But I ended up going to Gary Waters in the local mall. Got myself a belt, 2 button down dress shirts, and a pair of Mavi jeans that are being fitted. And black loafers from Aldo. Should be good for now.

you can't go wrong with:

-durag and fitted cap for headware (make sure to keep the stickers on the fitted and don't bend the brim). also you can throw in some sunglasses

-tall tee, a white one underneath a black one. plain... no logos (make sure it goes down to around ur knees)

-a pair of baggy jeans... brand doesn't really matter

-and a nice pair of white nike air force ones.... they have to look brand new

.... now that you've got the look you also need to know how to behave once inside the club. Go to a wall near the back thats also right next to the dancefloor and just stand there.....post up. Good things will happen.

LOL! That should do it...

If it doesn't work you can always pick up extra money selling drugs.
