I had a thought today about the future and over population. I don't think that will be what distroys the earth. When it comes right down to it, if your neighbour has room to live and food to eat and you don't, you will kill for the space and food naturally, or you will die. This leads to war and war leads to alot less people. Less people allows the earth to heal and once a problem happens, laws are made; the new law being the number of births allowed. This law would be controlled very strictly after a world war like that, breaking this law would result in the potential death of the planet if repeated.
Any other interesting views/opinions about it?

The rest of the world has slowed down with reproduction except the muslim population. Each muslim family has 6+ kids. Guess they need 4 or 5 to blow themselves up but still, that's way too many. Even Jewish people are slowing down. LOL!

People that live in highly educated wealthy nations are having having far fewer children today than they use too...Canada would be in a negative population growth currently (more people dying than being born) if it wasn't for immigration. Its the poorer less fortunate countries that are still producing large numbers of children. That trend appears that it will continue. People also make the mistake that we will continue to live by 1990's practices when it comes to pollution, poor use of crude energy sources as well as the massive over consumption and poor distrubution of food etc, etc... That won't and isn't the case. The last decade has seen real (although still inadequate) progress made and that progress will continue out of necessity. The various technologies and urban planning that are bieng (slowly) introduced today along with the theoretical ones that can be online in the next 50 years would enable the planets population to easily increase 10 fold without any real major problems....the trick will be to get everything on board fast enough....I'm personally optimistic that we will......

I think we'd probably be finished way before over population.....be it, diseases, polution or lack of resources. The Earth however will go on long after us.
