I saw a very large dude on BB.com say it is a great PW carb source in shakes. I got some local honey and been putting some in my pw shakes for the past week (hard to dissolve but apparently should help with allergies too)

anyone else do this?

If I`m not mistaken, honey is a form of fructose and fructose is not a good choice for a post workout carb source. It tastes good and would use it offseason, and even then, it`s more of a palate pleaser than anything else.

Probably not good post workout, but very good first thing in morning to replenish liver glycogen and shut down catabolism.

ok so besides buying dex/malto or WMS what can I throw in (something around the house) that is fast digesting. I know oats are slow.

I see some guys like gatorade powder? anything else as cheap and more effective?

You can buy pure dextrose from TS supplements that will cost you about 1/2 the price. I think 1/2 gatorade (for taste) and some truesupplement dextrose powder is all you need for post workout carbs.

i don't think there is anything wrong with Honey for a post workout carb as long as you use it with another source like rice or rice cakes or something starchy.

As Ritch mentioned honey is fructose so it will help replenish your liver glycogen , just use it with rice cakes for your muscle glycogen and it will be fine.

Something else that's nice is blueberries , strawberries , whey and dextrose . :) This way your getting everything at once replenished.
