Yeah, I agree it does look darker. I'm interested in seeing it. When I was a kid, the old ones scared the carp out of me. When I watched them again a couple of years ago, I thought I was watching a goofy comedy like, Scary Movie.

The original series is a classic.... it did start to get pretty cheesy towards 7 and 8.

This one looks like it has potential, but I'm not expecting much. Hopefully the guy playing Freddy pulls it off... his voice didn't sound quite right from the clip I saw, but it was pretty hard to tell.

I watched the first one when I was only a couple of years old, and got kinda traumatized from it... so even now, I honestly still get a little scared... which is kinda cool, cause I never get scared at movies anymore... so I'm really looking forward to seeing this.

The voice does sound pretty cool. Freddy is being played by Jackie Earle Haley who is Rorschach in the Watchmen. His voice is awesome. I hope it is good.

saw it sunday....save your coin. its shit. the director doesn't know the first thing about creating suspense, and freddy's voice\dialogue is laughable at best.

and i'm a horror junkie :( i wan't to like this one...really i did.
