The health benefits of coconut oil include hair care, skin care, stress relief, maintaining cholesterol levels, weight loss, increased immunity, proper digestion and metabolism, relief from kidney problems, heart diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, HIV and cancer, dental care, and bone strength. These benefits of coconut oil can be attributed to the presence of lauric acid, capric acid and caprylic acid, and its properties such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial, soothing, etc.

Its not really an oil per say...It is saturated fats, and solid at room temperature...I take a tablespoon with 2-3 meals per day, cook eggs in it etc......It tastes great and as already stated, has a tonne of health benefits...

I take a tablespoon of coconut oil at each meal. Make sure you get high grade coconut oil, that is solid at room temperature.... it becomes liquid at 28 celcius.

I think it tastes great and it's a great add on to the fish oils we are all taking! Also good when you are low carb.

edit : lol my post is pratically the same as ironwill's. PROOF COCONUT OIL IS GOOD! :P

Awesome for your immune system. heavy in Lauric acid. That is the saturated fat that is in breast milk that helps babies immune systems strengthen...also very easy for your body to convert to energy...don't even need bile salts to break the fat down..

Great for year round use..

I asked myself why my coach said to me that I can cook my foods with cocnut oil and the first time I saw that, I wasn't sure that was great for cooking!

but, with this thread, I Think I'll try and there's a lot of benefits!

Thanks for the post!:)
