haha assholes! I bet I got some of tighter asses!

I need some opinions here please. I have already bought a pricey TV in Canada and am currently looking for another one and have benn checking everywhere.
Ebay, Kiiji, Adoos.....you name it!
After searching for a few hours I found a direct electronics supplier from China who will send me whatever I want. The have a website and seem to be legit.

This Tv in Canada is $2200 - $2600(46LNT Samsung 1080p)
I can prolly get it on Ebay shipped for $1800
This website stock thousands of this particular TV and sells them for $450 EUR which works out to about $700 CAD.
I did a quote with DHL who ships for them all the time and shipping took a week and cost $400 give or take. $800 for express.

Has anyone ever ordered electronics or good from China?
DHL said the quote included duty but I seem to doubt it.

What would extra duty taxes be?

Good idea or not?

I am not a big fan of China products. A lot of crappy stuff come out of their. If it's legit brand name non counterfeit, it's good. But a lot of the rest is pretty crap. Including electronics. Inferior parts used to cut price and quality. In other words, you get what you pay for.

I wouldn't. They make products look like "regular" brands but use cheap internals...

I wouldn't. For the exact same reason that mass says. They are EXCELLENT at doing that. After duties/conversion/shipping/headaches/wait times assuming it's not damaged during shipping, is it worth it?
No warranty either on a expensive product to save a couple hundred? not worth it for me.

China's products are like a box of chocolates.. you never know what you're going to get. That and you dont know if the chocolate is going to jump out of the box and **** you in the ear.

What about factory refurbished Sharp/Samsung. Said to have been returned to the factory fixed or in some cases just cleaned, stamped and sold with a 1 yr warranty. Wish an option to purchase 2yrs.

Sharp 52 1080p around $1400
Samsung 46 1080p $1200

Still a great savings, but again, is it worth it?

This Chinaman I've got in contact with says he sells all the time to ppl in Canada bulk who sell them on ebay, in their stores etc. He says he sells many cars to wholesalers here as well.

2008 BMW M6 coupe: Retail Canada: 110k
Chinaman: 39k (CAD) plus ship

The Chinaman said he could ship UPS express save and it would be ten days but only cost me $110. That would be $810 for the TV, plus 10% tariff, plus sales tax.

Final cost $1000-$1100 here in Canada it would be double that.

I'm a little concerned about the switching of internals though, do you think that some of the TVs on ebay would have switched internals too?

I have done a ton of research in the last few hours on this subject.
I have asked the seller if it is counterfeit and for refs in Canada as well.
We'll see when he gets back to me.

I have decided that its too risky right now, unless the Chinaman can prove to me otherwise.

Word to Freeze. You should be called Hardhead:)

Swapped internals you will find on EBAY too. This is very common and they do an incredible job of it. Cell phones as well. I can tell you that you won't find an M6 in China for that price. And if you did, why would they sell it to the outside market instead of keeping it for themselves?

China stuff sucks ass. Be careful in small stores nowadays. Everything is mostly shit in there. Counterfeit and knock offs. Damn frustrating. Even basic tools are shittier than those of 10 years ago. It's as if they even use shittier metals. China is becoming everything that is wrong with this world. Instead of getting better and better things, we sacrifice quality for price. Everything we use is a cheaper quality of what we used 10 years ago. Thanks China.

That is so true, well said. The best steel in the world comes from Sweden but it's so expensive, they use it primarily from ship building. Chinese steel has hurt the metal industry, it's cheap and abundant, no wonder my workman tools rust in 3 months but what a saving LOL!
