Hello girls!

Im 5.5 weeks out from my first bikini competition. You are able to compete in an off the rack suit. I just want some opinions from others on how it looks on me. What do you think of the colour and cut...and how it actually fits me. I've asked friends and family.....but they all think it looks good, but I would love an opinion from others.

Also, for those who have competed, where did you buy your clear heels?? I have read gilrs buying them from bridal stores, I live in Brampton, but travel to Toronto frequently. If anyone could help me out that would be amazing.

Thank you,

Samantha

This isnt the right place to put this i dont think but your transformation has been just astonishing keep up the good work and although im no expert at bikini and dont no too much about it i think the suit fits well and will be perfect to display the work youve done. Keep working hard and try to keep from beating up korillon to bad on both your low carb days.ahahaha

I love the cut of the suit...looks great! My concern is the color. With a tan and the bright stage lights, not sure if that grey will be "washed out" or not. I looked at a few pics of bikini competitors and suits were really bright/colorful.

Your bikini look really good, but after watching the video we can see that with the dark tanning and lighting, something more flashy and colorful might be required. But again, I am not expert in bikini.

That suit is very forgettable if you ask me. You'll be up there with god who knows how many other girls so you want to stand out, this suit wont do that.

And I think this one sits too low on your hips....just my opinion.

Also the side ties will take attention away from the slimness of your thighs and make your hips look bigger. It's a great bikini for the pool or beach and you look great in it. But, for a figure competition you'll need one with a higher hip line and no strings. Keep us posted.

colour is off.. should be brighter, and the suit bottoms fit too low for your shape.. get something that has higher sides and your legs will look longer and your hips will look thinner and your top half to bottom half portions will match better.

Thank you for everyones help....so now im stuck, where can I buy a suit like that? I think it might be too late to buy one off the internet (and I want to try it on first before buying), and I can't really afford ot get a custom one done. But I am going to Stratford next weekend to attend the show.....and I do frequent Toronto (I live in the GTA).

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks again,

LMBQ

I'm sure she can rush one for you - it's not like it needs embellishment. Give her a call.

Contacted Karen today, I will be meeting with her on Saturday in Stratford and purchasing a suit through her. I really want to do well, and the only way I can even compare to the other girls is if I have a suit designed to show off all my hard work :)

Thanks Sean

Good luck on your show. Would be nice to see photos of you when you get the whole package together. Maybe you can inspire my gf to get her butt back to the gym.

This is your first comp no?

I dont compete so this may be out of line so if it is someone please tell me.

But I would not get too hung up on competing with the other girls so much as your self. Your transformation has been incredible and no matter where you place you should be proud at how well you have done.

As long as every time out you are improved I would be proud of the accomplishment. Plus it takes balls to step on stage and be judged, I couldn't do it so kudos to you girl.

No disrespect but if youa re just going to compete against yourself why pay 80$ for BAO reg, 80$ for Show reg, 250$ for a suit, 100$ for shoes, 30$ self tanner.... List goes on

Why not just look in a mirror at home if youa re competing against yourself?

the whole point in competing is to do better then the rest! that is why it is called competition.

I know i know do your best and be happy with what you place yes i agree but strive for #1 otherwise why wast your time?

I have also made a huge transformation and I am striving for #1 because i am entering the contest! If i was not entering it then I would still be uber proud of myself! Competition is to push yourself past your "known" limit!

Trust me if it wasn't for competing LMBQ would have given up long ago!! And most likely i would eventually also.

It's the goal that motivates us!! and teh goal is to win!!!!

:)

Again no disrespect Turbo just my view on your comment :)

Actually, I agree with Turbo here to an extent.

Yes, we want to win or rather we should be entering shows with the mindset of wanting to win and doing everything and anything possible to make that happen but we also must realize that we don't control who else is going to show up on that day. In the old system you could be competing against a Provincial or National Level competitor who has to go back up through the ranks which when compared against a L1 competitor would *most likely* be no comparison so winning is not likely an option.

The point I am trying to make is you can't control who shows up and all you can control is what you do. The true competition is within yourself - bettering yourself. Making improvements in yourself. Winning is gravy but if you don't win as long as you were better than you were the last time you competed or better than 6 months ago that is really all that matters.

while its true, it can be fun to place high, especially after you've done many shows, the ultimate purpose is competing against yourself - especially for first timers. If you plan on doing this year after year, then eventually you can start having big goals for yourself. its not likely a first timer is going to come out winning an overall, since first timers haven't really had the time to learn the perfect way to look their best yet. For example, a bodybuilder may not have come in lean enough, or learned how to pose the best with all the stage jitters, etc etc.

But the reason I quoted the above, was because paying the money to compete, membership, tanning, etc...isn't to win. It is part of the process of looking your best. Sure, if you really wanted to, you could get all tanned, diet to hell, get a fancy suit, and take photos with a professional photographer - but if you're going to go through all that trouble, the obvious next step is to jump on stage for the experience so that one day you might start to think about improving, and THEN start thinking about placing.

I've competed for 12 years now, and I still am not in it to win it. But don't get me wrong, I've done enough shows to know that I have decent chances at winning, but it doesn't bother me coming 2nd or 3rd, since you never know what 5'1 165 pounds freak of nature is sitting around waiting to make his appearance.

I really just wanted a goal, something to keep me motivated. I am very pleased with my results, but I would like to continue to compete, and make myself proud.

Excited to go to Stratford today, meeting Karen, will let you know all the details when I get back.

BOLLOCKS!!!
I train to WIN!! The goal is to WIN!! in reaching that goal there are things i can not control... like the judging process and who else shows up.. but if you EVER give less than 100%, YOU WON'T WIN!!.. if you can't see yourself winning.. YOU WON'T WIN!!! every excuse you make as to why you aren't pushing your hardest.. "KEEPS YOU FROM WINNING!!!

I train to WIN... If I don't win, it's just because someone beat me, not because I lost... because if you train to win.. you will be a winner!!

that being said... there are a few threads with pics of guys who have worked pretty hard making some significant changes to thier physiques... Im pretty sure nobody is telling them to get up on stage and compete in a competition just because they have made some changes!!... Bikini queen not tryig to discourage you... keep going.. you have a good start, you need more muscle.. maybe its just the pics you posted.. I didn't see any before pics, but neither will the judges, so they will not judge you on the changes you have made, just what you put on that stage... do everything you can between now and your show to put the best package up there!! Good luck!!

steve_d

so they will not judge you on the changes you have made, just what you put on that stage...

while this is generally true, if the judges see you over and over, making improvements, it can favor you as a competitor and make you stand out just a little. More so in figure / fitness because its more subjective. Yes, the show is judged based on who is there, but bringing up weeknesses from previous year can give you a very very slight advantage because you are "known".

I have noticed this first hand in a few shows where I had no bias because I knew no one...but some of the judges had seen the competitors in the past, and generally they scored a little higher then the new comers, even though they looked quite similar.

Hangin out with you and Korillon yesterday was fun shit. That dinner was awesome and after a let it ride in my stomach i was fine. You really have the heart, desire and dedication to make an amazing showing at Missisauga. You are so modest in terms of your physique. At four weeks out for bikini your abs you showed me and leaness is right on par if not ahead of course. Like i sed with the right suit and a good last 4 you will suprise yourself with how you do in your first show.

Ps. I should have sed yes to that blizzard you offered. Im soooo stupid. hahahahaa
