Somehow its not technically classified as a sport bike. It doesnt have an "R" in the title so its less money than my car for insurance.

(Im not getting THIS exact bike, but same model). Should be fun.

I kinda want an orange bike to be honest. I like orange things, and I want to be seen at night when I am riding.

I will also buy one of those $1300 racing exhausts so EVERYONE can hear me coming on the road. And also to piss off my neighbors. I dont really care of any of them.

Gonna have to disagree with the loud sport bikes being cool. They annoye the hell out of me. But if I had one, I`d probably enjoy it also, so just ignore my broke, envious ass...

Key word, be safe... I was an absolute maniac on my bike. I`m not a religous person, but think it was an act of God that my engine blew up. Seriously, I would have killed myself. I was passing cars even if a car was comming towards me. You don`t need much space, just a little. They get mad, I`d be in tears laughing. I`d be passing cars on the right through the gravel rocks, standing up a little moving the bike around to dust them up also. You just don`t want the light to turn red and have them close to you though, lol...

I am going to be the safest person of all time. People will probably get pissed at me for doing the speed limit. Its been a really long time since Ive been on a bike, and Ive never ridden anything bigger than a 250 dirt bike.

I was saying the same before I got my bike. When I`d kick start that thing, I`d be like some sort of posessed person. Every night before bed, I`d tell myself what a stupid dangerous asshole I was. Then the next day I`d do it all over again.

on sprts bikes the exhaust isnt loud, until you hit higher rpms. I find the choppers are loud regardless..

From a safety standpoint I feel that brighter colours are safer. I will most likely be doing a lot of night riding home from work and I really want to be SEEEEEEEEEN on the road.

Orange looks cool to me. Black looks super stealth for sure, but too stealth maybe....

Even if insurance costs influenced you, the SV650 is a great bike to start on if you are getting into sport riding. I ride with a couple of guys that have (and love) them. The Vtwin puts out some good torque, they are a hell of a lot more comfortable than super sports yet they are good on the track too.

Ride like you are invisible, stay safe and have fun. (I recommend taking a course too!)

#8 have you considered the new ninja 250's? If your not in this for speed then it's a great way to go. Its the bike I'm getting since i'm a newbie to street bikes insurance is only 700 a year for new riders. And the bike looks amazing.

True smaller engines are lame but its just to start off with for a year or two. If it were up to me I'd have a GSXR 750 right from the start but insurance is BS. Or a 600 CBR.

Niagara Race Crafters had a test ride day this passed weekend and a kid there was 6'2 and he looked fine on it. They beefed up the bikes this year with bigger farrings and tires etc they look just like the 600's now. Just sayin, food for thought. Go with a bud to a shop and actually sit on one see how it feels.

SV650 Is a much better bike to start on. You wont outgrow it in a week like the 250R. Buy all the gear and wear it! IMO I don't think you need orange to be visible though. Cagers don't care what colour you have. But it will look decent either way. Keep the wheels under you.

I think that's a great choice for a first bike. If it were me, I'd get one that was a few years old so it won't hurt as much if/when you drop it.
