Shouldn't be on stage. I feel as though that's an insult to the other competitors. Shouldn't be allowed on with a body fat that high.

I honestly feel really bad for that guy. I wonder whats going on in his mind to make him think in such a disturbing way. Does he see something else when he looks in the mirror i just dont understand. When he sees other ppl and compares himself doesnt he realize hes a complete joke? Overtraining? I dont no where to begin.

I agree, how embarrassing is that to the person who is actually in shape and competing in the show, how do u explain this person to ur friends/family watching. U can obviously tell by listening to this guy that he is not all there.

Listening to him talk hes probobly one of those dreamers who lives out of a panel van in the parking lot of an old golds gym chasing the dream that is if he can even afford a van. Maybe a cardboard box or a pile of twigs.

Ive been too a few shows some insane some not so good and one guy at each show always shows up and is completely clueless. There was a guy in my class last year and backstage he told me he trained for 6 weeks and just cleaned up his diet a bit. No tan, no posing, no routine. Not even top abs. Some ppl i geuss dont care and just want to knock it off there list of accomplsihments. I dont get that mentality but its out there.

I don't get it. Why would they even allow a person like that in the competition?

I really don't know how this guy gets on stage, not that I could anyways lol,, But I used to work with a guy like this in a lumber mill years ago, he would make me a lil edgy sitting in the lunch room talking to his apple then start eating like he was killing it . sit by himself and mumble to himself or start staring at you, creepy

about 3 years ago there was a "fat guy" (clueless competitor) at Mabba Novice. I was in the crowd watching and everyone was ll lagughing and egging him on and making fun, just like the video. The Volunteers tried to explain to him that he wasn't in competition shape, that he wasn't prepped for the contest, etc. He insisted anyway.

Afterwards we were talking. A freind was working backstage that show and tole me he was talking to the guy. It turns out, the guy had lost something stupid like 150 pounds and was in the best shape of his life and was proud of what he had done.

I do NOT think a bodybuilding show is the right place to showcase your weight loss.. but i did have a little more empathy for him after.

Plus, even though he looked like crap... he still beat all the guys who were sitting in the crowd laughing but were too chicken to step on a novice stage.

there are always a bunch of figures ladies with the same story, and even though they don't look "good" people applaud them.

no harm in these guys competing...Mentally handicapped, so whats the big deal. Let him have his fun, he's not hurting anyone. What about 85 year olds who look the same way and get the most praise out of anyone? I think this is similar, so let them compete if they are having fun...

Now if the show starts having more of these guys then serious guys...then there would need rules. But 1-2 in a whole show. Let them be.

Your right steve it does not harm i geuss. But dont you find it takes away from the seriousness and competitveness of a competition. It makes a mockery of the sport and being in good condition dont ya think. But you no what if someone had a huge transformation and feels good and just wants to do it so be it but i have to admit in a physique sport it just seems like its obvious there out of place. No doubt there in there best shape of their life but maybe not the most correct place to display it.

Ex. You fix up a chevette from 1970 and paint it up and rebuild it. It looks amazing for a clunker chevette. But your so proud you bring it to a ferrari car show with 200000 cars and rev up your engine.

You no what i mean. Just does not belong despite the hard work.

totally agree. And yes, it does take away from the seriousness and competitiveness of the sport. But you'll always hear people say the competition takes place for the 3 months prior. The day of the show is simply to assess who did their homework. You also hear many people saying - a trophy is the last thing to work for in terms of competing as your placing is determined by who is there, or who is not there. So I guess most would agree that the sport isn't really serious or competitive.

Personally, I have mixed feelings when I compete. I always want to place high, but at the same time, I am usually content as long as i've improved. Because really, in 1 week from the event, you will barely remember caring about the 1st vs. 2nd place trophy - unless you turned pro or won a provincial overall, etc.

So in the end, I guess competing is for fun, and a "clueless competitor" has their place IF the audience enjoys them on stage - almost like a guest poser. Examples include - someone with crippling MS who still has the balls to get ripped and workout the best they can. Someone who is 90 years old, and looks better than 99.9999% of there age group.

But I'll be the first to admit, that 99% of the time, the clueless competitor should NOT be on stage.
