Found on a deal site I frequent.
Just picked up a Smith Machine with weights and Costco (Vaughan) for $499
Can't go wrong for this price.

Even the both cashiers were amazed at the drop they tell me it was around $799 on special.
BTW: 1 left in Vaughan (7 boxes so be ready). Hope this not a re-post.
Sure this is the same model:

Comes with 165 Lbs of plates and 45 Lbs bar for total of 210Lbs weight. Used to be $999 then they slashed it down to $799 now its just silly for $499.
edit: Apparently the price just dropped to $299.97!!!! Wow, i might actually buy one.

Nothing wrong with a smithy. I already have a power rack, if I had more room I'd get a smithy to complement it.

I just picked up one @ the Costco near me, they have 5 or 6 left. It's not just a Smith machine, it comes with a 7' Olympic bar for use separately on the weight crutches with the safety spotters. I've just got to pick up a few more plates.

I don't think it comes with any plates.
It comes with Olympic plates made by Weider, the type with built in handles.
2 x 35 lbs
2 x 25 lbs
2 x 10 lbs
4 x 5 lbs
2 x 2.5 lbs
165 lbs total plus 7' 45lb Olympic bar
Thats why some more plates are required, but for $499 you can't go wrong!

I grabbed mine for $300 this week!!!! I ended up driving an hour for it, however, well worth it. Hell, the Olympic bar and weights themselves are worth a few hundred.

I seen one when they were sitting at about $500. I said to my wife I would go back and get it in a couple of days. When I went back about six of them were gone!!! For $300 I wouldn't have even hesitated.....
TLG where did you get yours?

May I ask why you want a smith machine?

for this price you can't go wrong though. aside from the smithy, it has an extra olympic bar with a few hundred pounds of weights, its an adjustable squat rack as well... the list goes on....and on.
you could buy an extra bench for a few hundred bucks for the olympic bar and still save yourself a grand on this one.

It's not just a smith machine. It has other attachments that I would be able to utilize also. I would like to start building a home gym by early next year and that would be a great starting piece.

Gonna keep an eye out for this, again.
It's got the Pulley, too.
To buy a Squat Rack with pulley you're looking at well over $1K.

who says you can't have both?
True... I bought a bunch of stuff for my basement and it never got used... Aside from owning gyms, I would prefer to work out in a real gym with real people around... training alone in my basement did not do it for me!
The way my gyms are setup, members get thier own access keys so they can come and go 24/7 365... it's like having your own personal gym with top of the line equipment!
[I am starting to sound like Tony Little :a+]
For that price I better check the Calgary outlets.
