Rabid raccoon wtf.....

Sister woke me up cuz she heard a strange sound coming from the back porch..... turned on the light and had a look out the door window.... was a raccoon sitting there making a strange sound, looking kinda dazed... he looked up and just stared at us for a bit then walked over to the steps and walked down a couple... left what looked like some white froth on the porch where he was sitting.

If this raccoon is in fact rabid.. what should we do? Does the porch need to be washed down, disinfected, etc? Anyone know how long it can be contagious? She has a cat.. indoor, but obviously don't want that shit getting in the house somehow.

My sister's going to call pest control or someone tomorrow to give them the heads up there's a rabid raccoon in the area... but other than that, not sure what's done in this situation.

I dont think that the froth or foam from the mouth is contagaous but he obvs has rabies. So def wash down the porch good and keep the cat in. Be careful he doesnt come back and bite you or your sister because shit that will make you sick and there really vicious when they have rabies. Maybe call the local pest control or animal control so they can put him down before he gets to someones dog and gives it rabies also.
