Since October I have been able to reach every single goal that I have set:
bf% down to 8%
rehab hip
PR on Squat 300X3
PR on Bench 230X3

Now my new goal: bring bf down to 6%:yeah

Last week I started waking up and walking 30 to 60 min in an empty stomach.

Yesterday I started a keto diet.

Result so far is that my legs are weaker (for obvious reasons)

Last Sunday I benched 230X3 and couldn't squat over 250lbs

Today I tried again: legs where weak and unstable.

I understand exactly why this is happening but seeing you getting weak every work out is quite frustrating.

I am doing my best to keep positive and keep my ego away and stay focused.

Sorry guy I needed to vent with someone that understands the feeling

Congrats on reaching your goals! They say strength will stabalize on a keto diet, so all I can say is keep at it.

I really had no loss of strength until my injuries took over. I was squating heavier and pressing more than I was doing so previously. Not sure why but maybe the fats were helping keep inflamation lower.

I actually have no strength loss in my upper body only my legs are tired as I am not used to all this endurance work, my only cardio for almost 1 year was volleyball.

I actually love the keto lifestyle: I eat all the time, love greens, love dead animal, love my food and my bf's food as well, as long as I keep my carbs low I have no cravings and my energy is fine.

From what I've read, it will take a few days for your body to get fully used to keto. I doubt you'll be lagging for all that long! What sort of supplements are you working with at the moment?

Are you incorporating a monohydrate into your supp regime while you diet?

Creatine and BCAA's go a long way for strength maintenance while restricting cals.

I am taking a shit load of L-glutamine.

I feel like a whale already and will take creatine in about one month when things start to get harder.

My loss of strength I due not to the change in diet, I am more than fien with that it is due to all the cardio that I not used to.

i found my strength went down for the first week or 2 and stabilized, then actually went back up to where it was previously for the most part.

i think what you're finding is the cardio is fatiguing your legs, and with depleted glycogen in your legs from keto, those heavy squats get difficult. Once you adjust to the cardio and your legs don't feel like jello ever again, your squats will return to normal i bet.

Congrats on the goals.

Give your self some time with the keto diet, you have only been on it for a couple days. Takes you body some time to adjust. If your giving yourself the right amount of fats that should give you the energy you need.
