Couldn't find pricing but all building specs provided were meeting basic builder codes. Nothing extra in cabinetry for kitchens or house moldings as far as oak or even laminate oak or something. All flooring was basic builders grade shit that a family of 3 would destroy within a year.

I'm sure these guys like other builders get you on the upgrades like light fixtures, cabinets, flooring even exterior and so on. Then you have the cost of getting a lot, foundation and services ie elec/water/sewer/gas. If these are prebuilt just moving one of these bastards used to be 5 to 8 grande.

I'm not bashing but they seem like every other builder out there, prebuilt or not. I was around that racket for years and I say the best way is to contract the whole thing out yourself or get a GC you can trust and do it.

I tend to agree with you AB. They only ship to around this area and if you want their entry house, I would imagine it would be shit. I think the cupboards are particle board etc. if you want to upgrade it would lotsa extra $$$

There is a lot for sale beside my house that has the foundation for one already but the guy had some money problems so I just thought I'd try to find out more.

I worked for a prefab home builder ... i think the company name was Nascor...There are alot of problems once they walls show up on site and placed with fitting together and being squared...

yeah, they dont ship a house to you in one piece. one advantage is that the materials are dry and 'should' go up fast, eluding moisture problems. you still have to find some one to put it together. framing a house is the cheaper portion anyway, so not sure how much you actually save?
they also claim that they have better materials for a cheaper price because they buy in such bulk.

I've heard all the propaganda, just was wondering about this for an investment property as I have an available lot.
