So they have reformulated SuperPump lowering the magnesium so it doesn't give you the dumps and I have to say its works. I can do 3 scoops and don't need to run to the toilet every 20mins

It was the magnesium?? Huh, all this time I thought it was the beta-alanine.... that's what I read about it when I looked up the ingredient.

Why would they put so much magnesium in it that it'd give you the shits?

I wonder if the other pre-workout drinks are the same thing...

how many mg of caffeine would 3 scoops equate to

I loved the stuff and used a tonne but the shits were always a problem. Interested to see if the formula change did in fact fix the problem because without that it would be perfect. IM not sure about the 3 scoops my container says 1 scoop has 20000mg of a propreitary matrix including caffeine in its second ingredient list but i assume its probobly in the 100mg range per scoop.

Thats what I read it was the magnesium which is used in laxatives.

Magnesium is needed for more than 300 biochemical reactions in the body. It helps maintain normal muscle and nerve function, keeps heart rhythm steady, supports a healthy immune system, and keeps bones strong. Magnesium also helps regulate blood sugar levels, promotes normal blood pressure, and is known to be involved in energy metabolism and protein synthesis [2-3]. There is an increased interest in the role of magnesium in preventing and managing disorders such as hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. Dietary magnesium is absorbed in the small intestines. Magnesium is excreted through the kidneys [1-3,4].

magnesium especially if it`s a cheap form will give you the shits. Smart move on their part. I`m getting tempted to try this supp now as the new shotgun is sucking ass so far... Cancel that, just checked how much this stuff costs when you need 3 scoops and it`s a safe bet I`d need that much. You get 13 servings for around $50 can. Making one jar last 3 weeks. May have to try no explode.

ugh no xplode was ****ing terrible. i tried it years ago, maybe they've improved it but it used to make me super nauseous, gave me a killer headache in the back of my head, made me dizzy and tingly vision.... awful shit.

what's different with the no shotgun?

if you're going to bother with these pre-workout drinks at all (which i'm not for a long while) i suggest you try dymatize extreme pump. it packs a huge punch.

they're all overpriced in canada. no way i would pay twice the price over the US prices... flat out rip off.

I enjoyed the feeling the SP250 gave me, tingly and hyper, but I would get horrible gas a few hours later. I couldn't even stand the smell of myself lol!

If I can get a sample of the dymetize stuff I`d consider it. But right now what I use works so good and is so cheap that product will have to deliver big time to make me spend my $$$ on. I don`t use them for the "pump" effect, it`s to get me zoned in for the workout.

Hey kloan, how many scoops do you you need of the dymatize do you need to get zoned in? Stim wise do you think it`s better than shotgun V.3?

1 scoop is more than enough for me. I get totally amped from it.

For me, the dymatize was much more effective than the shotgun. First thing I noticed from it when I switched was that the energy lasted much, much longer and I could get through a more difficult work out with ease. I found I noticed a significant drop in the energy boost half way into my work out with the shotgun.

This stuff is super potent, at least for me it was.. really affected my sleep. But I'm very sensitive to caffeine in general, even a couple cups of coffee throughout the day will keep me awake.

See if you can find someone that has samples of the stuff before you buy a tub so you can see if you like it.

If what you're using is already working for you (home brew?), I would say don't bother with this stuff.

As others have been posting, these pre-workout drinks can mess with your liver, not to mention other stuff as well I'm sure.

That makes sense. I need to find out if the old formula had more redline ingredients in it. As that stuff gave me insane energy. The other benefit was the fat loss although it wasen`t my specific goal at the time. Thanks for your replies.

^^ does dymatize still make the caffeine free version? caffeine is so counterproductive in those supps i think. take a 50mg caffeine if you want a boost not 200-300mg lol. completely ruins the pump for me

oh i get ridiculous pump from it... but i agree its way too much caffeine. i saw there was a caffeine free version in the review section, but i dunno if they sell it.. i never saw it.

I don`t train or leave the house unless I have 200mg of caffeine in me, lol...

Right now I`m having my pre workout meal and will not be using the shotgun. Gonna go with my economic stack of

200mg of caffeine
12.5mg of ephedrine
10mg of vinpocetine
the above taken with food exept the caffeine.

Then 30-45 min before training
3-5 grams of l-tyrosine
700mg of DMAE
800mg of glucoronolactone (the stuff that makes red bull work)

I`ve used the shotgun the last 5 workouts and something just isn`t right. If today`s workout goes well, I`m giving up the shotgun.

I also play around with geranium caps pre workout, not sure if I like that stuff yet, but it`s a touted fat burner and may stack it with clen and yohimbe this summer.

But right now I`m really thinking the money that goes into stuff like shotgun would be better off invested somewhere else.

Been trying a few different pre-workout products lately. Tried Octane (Perfect Nutrition), No Xplode (BSN) and NaNo Vapor (MuscleTech)

No Xplode is complete garbage. I don't feel anything at 1-2 scoops at all except a bit of an upset stomach. At 3 scoops I am gassy as all hell, constantly 'burping' like im going to puke. Just all around feel uncomfortable as hell. Hard to notice any kind of energy, pumps etc., if I am so uncomfortable or on the toilet most of the workout. (This is the newer version of No Xplode... I remember trying the old version when it first came out and liked it) (Also taste horrible, Lemonade, burns the mouth when your drinking it)

NaNo Vapor is similar to No Xplode. It doesn't give me as bad as stomach ache etc but gives diarrhea sometimes. Energy/ strength/ pumps are decent when you have no stomach aches and diarrhea. The taste is worst then No Xplode ( can't remember the flavor) but harder to stomach.

Octane is probably the easiest on the stomach. Energy / pumps were there the first 10 days or so. I usually threw in another 3-5g of AAKG with it after that. Once you hit 3 scoops you get the runs sometimes depending on when you ate. Flavor is fine actually, gets watered down. I think the scoop is messed up though, says on the ingredients profile the size is 19.5grams or something but the scoop for No Xplode is double the size and the same amount per serving.

I'll be giving USPLabs jack3d a try. Doesn't have the magesium/fillers like the rest do and I been seeing awesome reviews. Considering it is like 25-30$ a bottle compared to 70$+ for No Xplode it should be worth it (NaNo Vapor is like 50-60$ / bottle if I remember and Octane like 40$)

Just a heads up to you guys... if your thinking of taking a pre-workout product go to GNC. Pay the ridiculous price... try it and see if you like it and return it for your money back then order / buy it elsewhere for 1/2-1/3 the price. I think No-Xplode at GNC is close to 100$ lmao (compared to me buying 3 bottles of jack3d for 90$ )

^^ I checked out Shotgun.... not enough servings for the crazy price in Canada.. All I can say is if I don't like jack3d I will definitely just be buying my supplements in bulk and making my own pre-workout mix.
