View Full Version : Gyno Removal -SO CONFUSED

So I have seen 2 different surgeons regarding getting some pubescent gyno removed.
First surgeon said I did not have ANY gyno contrary to the opinion of 2 doctors.
Second surgeon now says that I don't have bad gyno in my right pec but instead my left which leaves me completely confused as it is the other way around. I have minimal breast tissue in the left, mostly a bit of fat. On the right side I have the puffy nipple as with hard breast tissue underneath, but she said she is going to leave this? I know she doesn't want to leave a crater, but the Dr. Blau surgery online shows him removing this "egg like" tissue.
Furthermore this doctor wants me to pay $1250 for something that would be covered under my AB health insurance, but she doesn't want to take the risk of not being paid. So now I have waited all this time in the public system to find out I have to pay for surgery.
Now I am not even sure I want to pay to just get liposuction and leave the hard breast tissue behind. She didn't even feel my chest and examine the tissue, but she is the head of plastic surgery in Montreal so it is not like she is a random doc.
I am considering get some more professional opinions, but would like some of your opinions.
Thanks

"she is the head of plastic surgery in Montreal", yet; she doesn't want to take the risk of not being paid?
Are you planning on having this done in Mtrl or Alberta? If you plan on heading to Mtrl yet live in AB, I can see why the doctor would say that..
I went to my family doctor, he sent me to a breast specialist here in Toronto. He examined me and confimed Gyno on both sides.. had it removed (100% covered), recovered well and was pleased with the results..
I find it hard to understand how someone is said to be a leading surgeon in Mtrl yet claims to be uncertain of what is/will be covered and what won't.. (Coupled with an eyeball diagnosis. ) BS.
** This applies to both diag and an apparent lack of provincial coverage knowledge.

Dunno bro. I know that as time goes on the likelyhood of getting any gyno covered seems pretty low. I've always believed there to be two different proceedures, one leaving a slight amount of the gland, a mastectomy and then a total removal of the glad, a bilateral incision I believe, but that one leaves the crater in the nipple area as described. Sorry couldn't be more help.

I live in Quebec doing financial research but as I am considered a student I cannot obtain Quebec residency so thus I retain an AB Health Card. She said because I am an adult I have to pay for it which is strange as the problem has been around since 16 and my family doc said it would go away.
I have next to no gland in the left side, but right side is very noticeable so I am confused why she would remove fat below the gland despite the gland being about the size of an timbit?

Get an new doc; one that will listen to you and your concerns.
And if your new doc is a male and doesn't speak any french I'm sure you'll be in good hands.

I am just pissed off they want me to pay for it. The reason I waited public is so that I wouldn't have to drop the cash, but that said tax credits would probably cover a substantial portion, but I pay taxes for our "free" healthcare.
How did you know she was French?
First warning sign was she didn't even shake my hand. WTF Nate would be pissed!

You mean Ritch would be pissed.
I would be pissed, with her being french, if she didn't suck my cock.

Being French I wouldn't be surprised if she wanted it in their ass. Not a classy set of ladies.
I definitely have gyno (my brother is a surgeon and said so himself), but she is going on saying she wants to leave the whole gland and just lipo fat. WTF? $1200 for something that cardio and diet can do for free.
Guess I have to consult my brother and see what he thinks, though he still thinks I am vain for wanting it removed but not being able to go swimming is kind of a big deal.

home surgery??
He won't even give me advice on my colds let alone cut off my nipple.
If I was a newborn without a proper intestinal tract then maybe he would cut me open.

Bowlcut: Dude if you know you have gyno ie. larger nipples and hard tissue behind nipples or around nipples then DO NOT **** around with asshole doctors that keep saying this or that.
You need to tell the docs what YOU want done and what YOU feel is needed in this case. This aint like buyin a car dude and believe it or not the docs work for YOU not vice versa.
If your gyno is from when you were growing up then it should be free of charge to get taken out and if it is hurting you(lets just say it is ok bro)it should be taken out ASAP and not just the gyno, but the fat as well.
As Canadians we pay into health care as soon as we are able to go to the store on our own when children so when it comes time for us to get much needed work done we need to pipe up and make a bunch of noise so we can be heard and taken care of.
It is OUR health care system and it should work for YOU and if you feel it is'nt then you need to see a lawer and get him/her to make this right.
Gyno AAS related or not should be payed for fully by health Canada no if's and's or but's........shit people can smoke 2 packs a day and get treatment that costs THOUSANDS when cancer creaps up so why not for bitch tits as well.
Fight for your rights my friend and fight HARD.
P.s. I love my avatar;)

The issue here is that the doc is not sure if it'll be covered by AH. Many provinces don't cover gyno removal. You really should do the legwork and find out; she really doesn't have to do the research to find out if it'll be covered as it's in the gray area for many provinces and she most likely has no clue what the regulations of each province are. Health care is regulated on a provincial level so these things vary.
Hell, many surgeons in AB won't bill it to AH, so I totally understand why she is being apprehensive.

has anyone gotten theres removed in BC? is it covered?
id love to get mine out. mine is also since puberty but all the roids might have made it bigger (my GF says its gotten bigger, it looks like the same sht iv always had to me tho, actually it looks better to me cause my chest is alot bigger now).
i tried running letro and nolva. didnt really do fuk all for my gyno.
and if it's not covered it only costs 1200 bucks OP? i could actually live with paying 1250 for it . i was thinking it costs more like 4000+

The sum isn't too much if you are eligible for the Medical Expense Tax Credit, and the supplemental credit. The former expense would see about $175 come back to me, and the latter potentially is up to around $1050.
I just don't know why I would pay $1250 for her to leave the hard gland tissue in when all the other surgeries I have read or watched removed this tissue? She didn't examine my pec even when I asked her. A little strange that she is going to operate on an area and won't even examine it.
