View Full Version : Office treats
Someone brought in cinnabon today. Why is it that everyone is compelled to eat one? I made some off-handed joke about how it's not exactly part of the south beach diet.
Then I get - OMG you're not on a diet are you... wow there's something wrong in the world if someone in your shape is on a diet.
Like... WTF?
Okay, so I am trying to shed a little fat... no I'm not fat, but I want to see my abs. Is it so abnormal that I am strictly eating healthy foods, and that ice cream and cookies don't enter my mouth except on Saturdays? I wouldn't really call it a diet... more an "eating style"
Why is it that women are always expected to be on a diet, but if it's a guy there's something wrong with you?

People bash what they, themselves, could not do.
Well... chances are while she says she's on a diet, the diet probably consists of eating nothing but carrots and ranch dip (which may as well be potatoes and sour cream) and crystal light. Then binging at the marble slab after work.

Sorry... does this belong in the rants and raves section now?
Men I used to work with the 3 fat women, and they would call me retarded because I was eating meal during my 8 hours shift. They could not understand how I was lean and since they only eat a bag a chips and half a chocolate bar, they are fat.
I had to quit after a while, they where insulting me about my eating habits too much. They felt so bad about them self they had to team up against me. I really think that Fat people without any intention to change should be taxed extra because they are ****ing up the health care system. I have nothing against Fat people actively working out and educating them self.

hahah sorry, i do have a problem with fat people. just the ones that try to hate on you for dieting. i have many of them at my work, i have laughed at many of them with their pimply ass faces and fanny packs. if you're fat because you eat like shit, like noticeably fat and hate on the fit person, get your shit together and get on that treadmill.

Yesterday I caught a comment for walking around the office eating a large head of brocolli like it was an icecream cone and how unusual it was and odd to see etc etc. I had to respond back that its a shame that if it were an actual icecream cone or perhaps a bigmac, nobody would give it a second thought\glance, but that we live in a time where eating healthy is a freakish behaviour that stands out.
yikes.

I have a bit of an issue with the same thing...
people offering me cookies or chocolate and I saw, "No thanks, it's not on my diet" and then they get all like "why are you on a diet?" or even right hostile about how "just one won't kill me"... sometimes it's hard not to get mean to them and point out what some other people have said... about eating like shit.. looking like shit.
The other thing that pisses me off is when people ask about what Im eating then offer alternatives... like "you can switch almonds for chick peas".. I'm like... "No I can't.. Almonds are not on the piece of paper my trainer game me with my menu on it... chick peas are"
or when fatso's are like "I could totally eat chicken and rice every day with no sauce on it"... I always say.. Ok.. do it!

I'm not sure why you would be sensitive to someone commenting on what you are eating. People make all sorts of grunting noises with their mouths. They don't usually mean much.

Yup, it sucks how we always have to be on the defensive side.

I'm not in a working place, but in school...In the beginning, people asked me why I eat so much and asking me why you ate this, Why you ate that? and finaly, even the fat people become interested about a healthy lifestyle, some of them, but more tiny kids!^^
so, it's not a big deal for me, but if I go out, when they are eatings like chips or things, there are knowing that i'm on a diets and they don't asked me if i Want a piece or chips!^^

At work at home hardware i got a boss who brings in sweets and shit everydau. Cinnabons, cakes, donuts, candies, muffins, cupcakes...you name it.. he puts it right next to my lunch box so i can see it will i grab my 1/2 cups of oats..After dieting so much i dont even mind most of the time. I feel ill watching ppl eat it because i would have so much regret. If im going to cheat its going to be planned and going to be meat of some sort. No matter what time of the year i always always pass on any sweets. No value to the BB or anyone ever so why bother. For a good taste for 20 seconds. Eat a steak or 10.

Why is it hard to believe that most people don't feel the need to walk around with a 6 pack all year round?

you make a good point. It isnt my way of thinking but some ppl seriously dont care about there health or appearence. They could care less about a 6 pack or anything. They are completely content being overweight fat ppl. But really thats fine its all what you want in life. Do i think its a bad way to be. Yes but they think the same of me. Fat ppl probobly wonder why i care so much why i eat good and have a constant 6 pack. Everyones thinks differnt in this world no matter if we agree or not.

you're right, I think the same!
We have completly differents interest, goals and for fat people, become healthy and muscular aren't one of their goal and because we are a small population doing that seriously( eating every 2-3 hours, train like a animal..etc) they think that's a kind of really weird for them!
LOL. An example, sometimes, people say to me, Hey Is is good for me?? There are not fat in this and I said:
« Yeah, but it's full of carbs and to add more, it's full of carbs with a High GI and in my total diets, I didn't eat that amount of carbs in my day and you, in one meal..O_O and I also said to them that fat are better healthy than carbs because they eat to much carbs and after, I describe the good fat and etc..»

I always get "oh, are you on your starvation diet again?"... to which I reply, " I eat more for breakfast than you do in an entire day"
Whenever I feel even a remote craving for something not in my diet, I look at the person eating it... works every time!

Funny how most of society thinks its a "freakshow" when people eat healthy.

Honestly, I could care less what people think/say anymore. I am happy with the way I look (only took 40 years....lol) and I know what I need to do to get better:)

People will give you a hard time when you say the word "diet" because they associate the word "diet" with eating less and starving yourself. Diet really is just controlling what you put in yourself, whether it's cutting down or bulking up.
