For those that live in Ontario, what is your life like there? Do you consider it a good lifestyle? How's the job markets? Housing? Etc??

"Ontario" is too broad.
Life for my family is good, although I wouldnt say jobs are easy to come by. At least good jobs.
Do you think quebec is much different?

Don't know. I find life pretty good here in Montreal. The only real thing that bothers me is the constant language issue in the news. It's rather very depressing.
You guys need to come out west.
10 degrees out on ancouver island for the last week or so. Though if you come to BC id say there are WAY better places than the island.

Biggest con is your commute, housing, and complete lack of culture and lifestyle. If you want to live amongst workaholics or sit your ass in traffic all day there is no place is better than Calgary.

The west coasts number 1 pro has to be the climate. In Victoria this year, we got MAYBE 3-4 days that it snowed. Its 10c right now (a little cool for late March). Its also stunningly beautiful here, especially late spring to early fall. But it is a very expensive place to live and those from bigger cities often find the laid back life style a little boring after a while. Vancouver is another option though...not as nice as Victoria, but a lot more going on and more work options.
oh, and another pro is the whole "language issues" of Quebec are non-existant out here. Nobody even seems all that aware of it. Most seem to know something like "oh ya, don't Quebecers not like english speakers or something? I hear they're rude when you're visiting and don't know french". Thats about the extent of our knowledge of the situation......and we like it that way. ;)

Life in Toronto is good but not cheap.
I can take the street car and live 20 to 30 min away from the ACC, Ballet, Opera, Theatres and movies.
If you speak French here may be useful but if you don't that will not be in your face.
The prices of housing are going up and up... that's just the reality.
But if you rent it isn't that bad.
In terms of work it is like everywhere else. There are jobs for sure but it always depends on WHO you know...
I believe that there always is space for web developers here as everybody has or wants to have his own site...
PM me for more specific questions...

The latter part is a myth. Depending on where one is in Quebec there will be different reception to English, but I have never felt that Quebecers are more rude than people from Toronto. Quite the opposite in my opinion.
The nicest people in this country are still people from the Rock and Saskabush.

Planning a move? Do you consider yourself (Montreal ) separate from the rest of us in Ontario? or is another entire thread! :)

Vancouver was rated the number 1 city in the world to live in.
I actually consider montreal to be different from the rest of quebec. More multicultural and in tune with the rest of the world and what is going on in it and keeping up with it. But it might not last. They are pushing hard to open up bill 101 again which is what caused over 500k people to leave here. It's just the political aspect of quebec politics is horrible from a business perspective. One of the worst places in north america by standings for investing. If you don't know which way the tide will turn, it's not wise to put down a lot of cash.
I'll be out in TO around sept and maybe again in nov and will be taking a good look at the people and lifestyle there. I don't think I would make the jump to BC though. But I do here it is a good place and lifestyle.
Whoever says there is no culture in the west is either culturally blind, or has never been out west. The sun doesnt rise and set in Ontario.
Lots of work out west, amazing scenery, the people are more friendly and laid back (from my experiences anyway), the women are more fun and way fewer girls looking to marry rich and get fat (wow, maybe I just had really shitty experiences out in onterrible), great hunting and fishing, outdoor pursuits of all kids are unparalleled in the world, you can find every ecosystem in BC, so find one that you like (hot and dry, cool and wet, cold as hell, everything in between).
Seriously, BC and Alberta are just IT, son!

BC and Alberta are nice, but I've been to every small town and city in Alberta and BC and can say that in terms of culture there is nothing like Quebec.
Even in terms of nightlife too. Tons of terraces, street cafes, etc to chill outside on a summer night. Calgary's kensignton is pathetic in comparison to anything in Montreal.
Calgary is a good place to live if you want to raise of a family, work hard, and go to a big box restaurant for a meal.

Montreal or TO, I'd pick Montreal any day. Rent is still fairly cheap, the women are beautiful, less pollution, less innocent victims getting shot. At least the bikers and gang kill each other and there is seldom collateral damage. I also find the people here warmer, Toronto colder probably since it's such a big city. Actually I went to TO a couple of years ago and was waiting for my buddies outside a bar at 1 am, some idiot screamed out not sure from where get off the roids, and I don't even consider myself that big. Been living in Montreal basically all my life and never got that.

Welll, here's my perspective...
I'm from Newfoundland...
I moved to Ontario when I was 20. I moved to Oshawa for school. I hated the place...
From there, moved to Toronto. Didn't find a job I wanted, but loved that there was a lot to do....so I moved to Ottawa. I LOVED Ottawa, the city, the people, the culture...but I am not bilingual, so it was difficult to get a high paying job. So when I met my boyfriend, who is from Poland but who lives in Hamilton... I moved here 4 years ago to be with him....
I have a love/hate relationship with Hamilton. I have extreme reactions to the smog as was noted above. I have never had allergies, and for 2 months of the year, I am a mess. To the point, my parents have asked me to move out of Hamilton.... so I'm saving for a house in Binbrook which is 10 minutes out of Stoney Creek but in the country enough that I won't be looking at the smoke stacks from Steeltown! I looked at property here in 2006, and now the same houses have risen by $60,000K to build new in the same communities.....
Binbrook are worth taking a look for investment purposes... it's going to be the next Ancaster. If you are familiar with Ottawa, Binbrook is to Hamilton, what Barrhaven and Greeley are to Ottawa.

Brenny, I don't want to burst your bubble but even if you were totally bilingual, you would not get a decent job in ottawa (unless you have a french last name). It's a documented fact that they will hire a french who speaks medicore english over an english that speaks perfect french. Gotta love the influence of quebec in politics.

Hamilton is not offically part of ontario. lol All you'll see on google maps is this hazy, foggy blotch between Toronto and the falls
