View Full Version : sleep aids that don't affect protein synthesis?

What are some sleep aids you guys use for positive results? I can't use ZMA cuz for some odd reason everytime I use it, I can't fall asleep anymore. Dimenhydrinate 50mg works well for me, but does it negatively affect protein synthesis or none at all? I don't like taking tylenon nighttime because I've read it affects protein synthesis. What do you guys use?

Not only do most sleep aid pills affect protein synthesis but you won't be able to sleep without them ever again. Trust me I know lots of people who tried sleeping pills and are now dependent on them. My best advice to you, make hardcore love to your girlfriend before going to bed, you'll sleep like a baby. Or if you happen to be single, have an intense jackoff session before going to bed.

Jack'n'Jerk works real well.
5-htp, valerian roots, melatonine. Combined with ZMA will really help you fall and stay asleep.

I havn't slept the past two days after i included dbol and I'm just ticked off that i'm losing on potential growth. I suppose jack off till I pass out is best?
However at desperate times, what do you guys do?

I know what I said sounds funny, but I was kinda serious. I'm all for natural alternatives when it comes to sleep aids. My best advice to you aside from jackoff till you pass out would be to avoid sweets before going to bed, cutoff caffeine from you diet, eat foods that help you sleep, magnesium is a natural sedative. try to eat a magnesium-rich meal before going to sleep. Also nicotine and alcohol can interfere with your sleep patterns. Try simply to eat well before you go to bed. Also, chamomile tea is a great sleep aid, I have one if I have trouble sleeping at night and it's all-natural. Hope this helps!

I just started using melatonin this week and it diffenately makes a difference.
melatonin + busting a nut = out cold
are you serious? I have melatonin i've tried it twice... and nothing really? i might of felt kind of calm maybe?
I hear reviews of people saying it works, but most people i ask tell me it does nothing for sleep? any opinions?
I am very energetic now, and i need to wake up tomorrow and if i can't sleep now it'll be my third day in a row. Shall i cancel out the dimenhydrinate and use melatonin, or just straight bust two nuts and pray i go to sleep? and wake up ALIVE lol

Ive read on internet that melatonin decreases sex drive and lowers testosterone.. Also does gaba.

I've read on the internet that use of steroids before age 20 in males will cause the penis to shrink.

these are good and i use:
valerian root
kava kava
ZMA
somtimes all three at a time.
and i dont "crave" them so its not liek your going to get hooked.
look into the valarian root, make tea with it.

melatonin works well for me to put me to sleep, but it does NOT keep me there, at this point (but I am 2 weeks from a show on zero carbs so this does not apply to most) I wake up every 1-2 hours and have to take more melatonin to fall back to sleep. Obviously something much stronger is needed in my case, but not every case. If your biggest isse is just getting yourself to sleep, try taking 10 or 15 mg of melatonin and it should get you there within an hour. If you are hardcore dieting, well, something stronger might be considered until the diet is over.

I have no problem with occasional small quantities of zopiclone or even lorazepam. Great, deep sleeps. But I have to sleep alone on these things because I sleep so deeply I snore like mud bike hill climb.

I try and relax at least an hour before bed....Then half hour prior to hitting the hay, i pop some GABA, and tryptophan.........I love it !!!!
Sometimes if your diet allows it, it is good to eat some toast or oatmeal an hour before as well...
I dont use it every day right now, but i did it for a few weeks straight and i didnt need to increase dose or anything...

This might sound a bit odd, but can sleep apnea get worse from taking gh? I swear to god my tongue has doubled in size in the last few years, I wonder if my bad snoring has anything to do with that? Where do you get a sleep apnea mask? Or is it one of those things you have to go thruogh 15 doctors get?

How exactly do sleeping pills affect protein synthesis? Tried searching and can't find much.
Also I take Zoplicone fir 35 days then stop for 35 days and don't have a prob getting to sleep when I am at home and not taking it.

Bump.. Is it just a myth? I really don't see the effect a sleeping aid can have on protien synthesis ...
