Like it says, would it be wise to train chest and shoulders on the same day?
I was thinking of doing Barbell bench 5x5 and standing OH press 5x5 plus auxilary work (incline db press, side laterals, shrugs...ect) main focus being on bench and OH press...or is this all to much pressing?? Thoughts?

DC has me doing it with chest first then shoulders.
I've always been a little iffy on this one as once my rotators tire shit gets bad quick.

Despite the all knowing wisdom of Dante Trudel I may modify this very thing and get some recovery time between the two this year.

Sounds like you want more pressing power. Go for it bro, but make sure you get decent recovery time between sets specifically on the pressing, and go easy on the auxillary work.

I have personally done this before and didint have issues with overtraining or injuries.

It`s just one of the many ways you can do a split... If your shoulders are a weak point, I wouldn`t train that way however.

I loved his workouts but my shoulders finally said no to the RP's for chest and shoulders. Slow negs rat bag my shoulders. A controlled neg for me works fine though but those long negatives took a toll.

MMA, what are your goals?

Either way, whether for power or development training the two together is perfectly fine. Mine have made better gains by taking out a shoulder only day.

If i was training chest and shoulders together i would only do lateral and rear delt work for the shoulder aspect of it. Your anterior delts are already getting blown up from all the chest pressing.
