well, I was going to start a sust. only cycle on monday....but got a call today for a job in Waubauden Manitoba at a nickel mine. 28 days in and 14 out. Pretty bummed about postponing cycle, was pretty excited but can't say no to job, it pay 3K net per week!

So you're from there? How are the people? My friend is there now, he said it's -20C last night. Far cry from the +12C we have lately! He told me I will get 75% bonus and overtime after 8 hours then overtime again after 40 hours and we work the full 28 days we're in. The work is physical but that's OK since there's no gym. I'm going to bring a Trex training system with me to help out.

The money is going to help out a lot since I've been on strike for 8 months now! If I can get 3 runs in I'll be ahead of the game prior to the strike. I'm thinking I may add EQ to the cycle afterwards as a gift to myself.

yeah Wabowden is a different place...I lived near there for quite awhile and travelled through and visited friends there...
The people there are very friendly....All 700 or so of them...lol...Mostly native americans and mine workers etc....
You are in one of the best spots for spring fishing ever....walleye by the boatload...Make friends with some locals as they have no limits on fish haul, and can hunt anytime...makes for good times up there....
Lots of tourists and good camping etc.....
Watch your p's and q's, not many cops around, folks take care of lots of things on their own....like the good ol days....:o
btw, bonus comes and goes with nickel prices....never count on the bonuses, they are exactly that....a bonus....if it doesnt come, cest la vie...Ive been up around there and all over following the booms, and it goes bust very fast also....get the cake while its there, then leave....

what so they pay you hourly? how do u figure 3k a week then? what is your hourly wage?

I was told today my wage. It's 25/hr + 22.50/hr bonus which varies but never below $20/hr. They're 11 hour shifts, OT after 8 hours and OT after 40 hours. They are 77 hour weeks for 4 weeks straight. I roughly figure about $4500 gross and 3K clear. It's Dumas mining out of Timmins. I was told we're mining under Bucko Lake.

They're flying me from here, to Toronto, then Winnipeg, then Thompson, then an egg beater to camp. Turns out I'm leaving Thursday.
