Who here is sponsored? What do you get and what is expected from you?
How did you go about receiving the sponsorship?

One of my long term goals is to get sponsered by True Supplements. Chances are its not going to happen but if i talk and post less and spend more time kicking ass in the gym and on stage you never know. Maybe if i one day make it to national level they will but as a moderate size company i dont think they sponser many athletes at a time like the big fancy guys like MT, and all that. I wouldnt want anything out of it really there prices are good enough already just a title would be sick..

guys i know who got sponsored by muscletech, nxcare, got about $500 a month in supplement (at msrp, not retail, not wholesale), and if they did a photoshoot about $600-1000 (usually just one or two shoots).. and a 4 year exclusive deal meaning they can't do shit for any related product, so locked in. plus had to do a couple events a yera and work the booth, ie. arnold classic handing out samples all weekend
not alot really.. but if you look at it, they're a business.. you're an adult.. if you can demonstrate you can add X Value to their company, profit, over the next guy, then you can get something...
muscletech had open post on getbig a while ago for anyone interested in sponsorships with b and a's...

I thought I was sponsored by a local Nutrition Store for many years. I sent them dozens and dozens of customers who would spot my photos in the gallery of their stars and say "she sent me". I wore their t shirts as my uniform in the gym and at shows.
I had to submit my entry fees, and costs like posing suits etc. Only to receive a 200 or so dollar gift certificate back.
I wish I had a sponsor but I'm ok going alone for this May. After doing 5 shows up to Nationals I now realize I'm OK on my own. ONLY I make this work.

I've got a few sponsors right now, its definately nice to save a few bucks on supplements.
But if your gung ho on making a name for yourself and getting publicity and sponsors you need to win contests and market yourself right. Winning contests doesnt guarantee any of that but def helps.
