Some of us enjoy the photoshoots on our way to the main goal: The Stage ! For some others, modeling is a part of the sport, and it’s hard to say if the main goal is the Stage...or the Studio ! I am one of them !
There is so much stuff to say about shooting, and we all want to know more about that ! It’s not easy to start, how to start and where to start ! I want to share with you some of my expériences, and maybe help you avoid the same mistakes that I did ! ;) Could be usefull ! ;)
First, the photographer you will work with have to be professionnal, respectful, and trustable. They are a lot to try to win their place in the fitness industrie, but a lot of them fail, for some reasons ! I would suggest you to go through their “porte-folio”, website, facebook account, to see what they can do, and if it is what you are looking for. As well, ask people whom have already worked with to get some feedbacks about their experience. Be clear on the “contract” before the shoot: How much $$, what kind of pictures, outfits, how many pictures will you get, in how long ? How long will last the shoot, what the photographer will be allowed to to with your pictures (facebook, submit them to magazine, ...wich one?) How you will trust the photographer will directly influence the results of your pictures. You need to be comfortable in front of the camera, to feel pretty and self-confident. Outfits, Hair, Make-up are important for a success shoot !
Chose differents styles of outfits so your pictures won’t look all the same ! Bring more than less ! Don’t forget accessories as necklace, earings, etc. And a lot of shoes !! ;))) How much does it cost for a hair brushing ?? 40$ It Worth it to avoid realize after you received your pictures that you had a bad hair day !!! A professionnal Make-up is also a most ! I should say MUST ! And it can be really cheap ! In big stores as La Baie, Sears, etc... You can have an appointment with one of the girls working in the cosmetics kiosk for free, if you buy any product ! (could be a 10$ gloss!!) As well, MAC COSMETICS offers 2 différents services : Interrompted make-up, in the store, totally free, no need appointment, but the customers whom will walk in will the priority...could be a good option on a sunday morning...but wouldn’t go with that on a friday night, unless you have 3hours to sit there ! But you can also take an appointment to have a 60 minuts make-up behind the store, if you buy 50$ of their products. (a make-up usually cost 50-80$, but you don’t get anything to bring back home after!)

Because in studio the girls for your Hair and Make-up won’t be their, you can only count on yourself ! I bring all I need to save my hair, in case... Flat Iron, brush, Spraynet, etc... And for the Make-up, a gloss, powder, and my new discover : Facial Blotting Paper, by QUO Cosmetics ! (Their cosmetics are almost always 40% off in Shopping Drugmart or Pharmaprix!!)
