As suggested by tiramisu (http://www.canadabodybuilding.com/forums/showthread.php?p=361266#post361266) here's a separate thread on this.

I'm not sure if I'm hypoglycemic, although I get a lot of symptoms here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypoglycemic
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reactive_hypoglycemia

I always had low blood pressure (yes, I measured it) and needed to eat on a constant basis, otherwise I would get headaches like there's no tomorrow. Apparently, coffee solves the problem, even though if you read wiki it is not recommended for someone who's hypoglycemic.

As a rule of thumb, as soon as I see the veins on my arms sinking in - I need food, now! Otherwise the headache starts coming on.

I don't have an issue with carbs, apart from the fact that although I feel awesome on a high complex carb diet, I get fat. Keeping medium carbs (200-250g a day) and eating lots of meats works for me. I get enough energy for workouts and the fat is slowly coming off. Coffee helps bigtime too, I think I'm wired on stimulants for life now...

Does anybody else get low blood pressure after not eating for 3-4 hours? Any comments? Is this normal? Or should I go get checked out by a doc?

My BP is low normally...Even when on cycle....dont know why, but my doc says its a good thing....Not abnormally low, and my resting heart rate is low as well.....

I get low BP, heart rate is normal, but when BP keeps dropping heart rate rises (78bpm). My only problem with this is the headache. Moving around (cardio) gets rid of headache, but this is only temporary - then it comes back again. If I run a low carb diet with a ton of cardio, then headache occurrences are reduced.

Feels like my body is not producing enough of something to dig into fat stores when there's a food shortage.

My bet is Migraine condition....All of your veins will dilate which will drop your blood pressure and force the heart to keep up with demand, then bam, headache and vision problems and also light sensitivity....That is what i would say...I bet a constrictor like caffeine etc will help make some symptoms pass......
DR.IW....

Im serious thats what you have sir...See your doc....

Makes sense. But I think I need a different doctor. I've already spoken to him about this, and he sent me for a carotid scan.... not sure why. According to my doc I'm as healthy as a racehorse and just whine too much, and it's hard to find specialists who deal with migraines. So, if you guys know of any... please feel free to gimme their contact info (in Toronto).

Carotid scan is a good call...He wanted to make sure your carotid arteries were in good shape, the proper diameter etc.....Make sure of the blood flow volume as well if you did an ultrasound technique to check them...

Hey IW,im curious to know as to what your calorie intake a day is to just MAINTAIN your weight.Does low pressure and low resting heart rate correlate with metabolism??And second, when dieting can you still take clen even though clen in itself is known to lower blood pressure.Would it drop even more you think?

For me and maintaining i carb cycle quite a bit , and generally in excess calories not a carb cycle deficit diet, typically around 4000-6000 calories/day in offseason to maintain 255-265 plus lbs with not to much fat......It varies quite a bit depending on what im doing workwise in the gym, and out of the gym @ work with my job...........
I dont think low BP, or Low heart rate correlate with metabolism...My doc says its a good sign of heart health and good fitness cardio and vascular wise....??? My metabolism is very good, i cut calories and lose fat fast...I virtually did 0 cardio last yr for contest prep...No kidding...And ate lots of things i shouldnt have...lol....
I take clen and it doesnt have a negative effect on me, ive only used one cycle of clen, and loved it...
My blood pressure is only slightly below normal, but it is good....I forget exact numbers...
My resting heart rate is 52-56 BPM.....typically...

I've done some research on the subject, and I have a typical migraine condition caused by vasolidation (dilation) of the blood vessels in the head. I also have genetically low blood pressure and with no migraine a low heart rate. Having said that, vasoconstrictors like caffeine and ephedrine help.

So, I'm thinking of jumping on an ephedrine cycle, since coffee screws with my sleep and I get fatigued quickly. I'll see how that feels, prolly start with 8mg tab in the morning, then increase to 12, 16, 20, 24 mg. I'm starting a cutting cycle in mid-April anyway, so I'm looking at some clen at the moment, which is also sympathomimetic from what I understand. I'll post a log in mid-April.

Should Ephedrine be cycled? Tapered toward the end?
