Recently I have been having problems with my PC freezing and stalling when trying to open applications and download pics. It all started when I installed a program to allow the opening of some vids from Limewire. The program is called Mirar and when I try to de-install it it asks me to install software to do so. My Norton is warning me against doing so and I am wondering how the **** to get rid of it without installing more shit. Sounds ****ed to me. Any ideas?
scratch norton, it's the shittiest antivirus. Buy Eset NOD32 (http://www.eset.com/download/free_trial_download_eav.php).
1)boot in safe mode with networks (start your computer and press F8 until you see the option)
2)install malwarebytes (http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=5756), a-squarred (http://download.cnet.com/A-squared-Free/3000-8022_4-10262215.html?part=dl-6251182&subj=dl&tag=button), spybot (http://download.cnet.com/Spybot-Search-amp-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10122137.html)
3)do the updates to programs in #2
4)make yourself a cofee while they are scanning
reboot, install NOD32 + updates
your system is now 25-30% faster without norton
download VLC media player (http://vlc-media-player.en.softonic.com/), firefox + adblockplus (https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/1865) + noscript (http://noscript.net/getit)
you can now watch as much pr0n as you want

where at?
IMO you will spend more time trying to wipe the things. Backup some half decent stuff you want to keep and reformat the whole computer! :)

what exactly does noscript do? where would it be of use?

Put simply it's a Javascript/Flash/Java Firefox blocker (I'm hoping you're using Firefox haha). Flash, especially, is like an open door to your computer.
It's just another layer of protection...
The combination of spybot-search & destroy coupled with Symantec anti-virus has kept my computer working fine.

i work in this field,
and rely on Spybot pretty often, good software and it's free
maybe you can do a system restore to a date before this install?

Usually would in most cases. That said, if you are a regular user of Limewire or some other P2P software, it would be best to crank it up a bit...
