Could be a good movie to rent. But why would they use the pet shop boys, arguably one of the gayest bands ever who`s music absolutely sucks, to promote a bad ass movie like that?

They were gay as ****. I think because the time frame was that his glory years were back then. The British scene was ****ing gay back then. The soundtrack sucked but I've never judged a movie by it, especially now that RAP and Hip Hop have cornered that market and both are shitty as all hell IMO. Scorcese knows music at least.

The movie looks cool, I`m not judging the movie by it, just questioning it...

I did some research on the guy the movie is based on, Mickey Peterson AKA Charlie Bronson, and the actor seems to have nailed his real life persona and experiences. He was maybe the toughest criminal in British history and doing time there is much more harsh than doing it here or in the USA. Contrary to what many think, the British system is hard as nails. I work with a guy who was a guard there for ten years and every maximum joint is a shithole. No satellite TV and Sony Playstations for them.

And get uglier? Not likely. I could kiss any lovin' from the wife goodbye. Looked right on him though.
Curious as to why you are intrigued by this guy. I would think that most guards would enjoy beating the shit out of these types.. no?
Anyway, I streamed the movie and I enjoyed it from an artistic perspective.
Thanks.

The days of guards beating the shit out of anyone are long gone. Cameras everywhere AND IMO the only thing that accomplishes is more bad blood and headaches. Who wants to go to work in an already negative environment and make it worse? Even if you are attacked you can only start with the minimum level of force required to stop the threat. Anything above that and you are raped by paper pushers who have no idea how to do the job and don't care if you get punished. Inmates have nothing to lose, officers have everything to lose.
I have nothing but respect for the guy portrayed in the movie. He takes on all comers and doesn't use weapons. A true street fighter, a dying breed. Yeah, he's a complete psychopath, but he has a method and a code he lives by. Kinda like the psycopath is No Country For Old Men.

i've seen a guard chew out another guard on the floor in defense of inmates while the entire block watched from their cells. it was due to a goofy code yellow. from what i have seen and the ones i have met, most corrections officers are pretty good guys when it comes to interaction with inmates.

I don't agree with chewing out fellow staff in front of inmates. No one does. Bad move on his part.
There are good and bad officers. Every work place has a mix. It can be a tough job but it's not a bad way to make a living. You have to either enjoy or welcome confrontatation at some level. Not all inmates react well to the soft touch.

no doubt bro. i was surprised to see actually it happen. maybe it was just a 'good cop, bad cop' performance to keep everyone from getting too excited. meh.

Quite possible but more than likely the one guard was mad at the other for winding the inmates up. Sometimes if you do so then it leaves a huge headache for everyone to deal with once you have gone home. I've seen it and would have liked to strangle the prick who left me with the aftermath. Still, I would never berate a coworker in front of a con. It's still a team and that guy might have your back tomorrow.

Good movie. A little far on the artsy side for my choice, but I still enjoyed it.
