Then he should hook the hitch to the frame and he'll be fine ;)

Dodge is hard on gas with the hemi...........Fords are hard on bush roads..........honestly the best truck I drove that was not bad on gas, and not bad on the bush roads was a chevy......but was crap in the northern BC winters. I would still say Chevy though, unless you need more power, then i would go dodge 2500 4x4, quad cab, non-sport package..........sigh i wanna trade my little car in lol

used toyota tocoma, probably in your price range and they're pretty good trucks.

find a used gmc or chev 1500 4x4, used for f-150, or a used dodge 1500

test drive and pick the one you like the best. they are going to all have their quirks, and will all do the job. my choice would be a gmc 1500 loaded. if you can find a used with a leather package.... very nice

I own a dodge, always have but I also don't tow anything. My vote would go towards ford if you tow.

I gotta go with wade here. All trucks have their problems. I have a 95 f150 that the suspension rotted out of. The engine on the other hand has been amazing. Not a single issue in 4 years.

F150.. No real reason other then I love how they look, they are less expensive then some of the others, and the dude from Dirty Jobs (mike rowe) says they are cool!

I have a Ford Ranger Edge 4x4
Thing pulls my boat and sea dos with out a problem.
Couple times per summer my day pulls his trailer up to his property with out any problems.
It's great on gas and rides smooth in the snow when weighed down.
The bigger Ford trucks are just amazing but very expensive to run and maintain.
I recommend a Ranger if you are looking to have low gas bills and maintenance costs.

Good luck,

If your looking to haul stick with one of the big three. They know how to build a truck. It's been their bread and butter for years. No toyota. Japanese stuff have terrible frames. Tundra's are junk to.
