Didn't watch the vid but in my experience no leg training should be done the last week.

The guys they brought over are world champions. In asia an amateur at the world level makes more than most pros.

The trainer speaking is one of the top amateur coaches in the world.

no way is he 5'1. Another site says 163 cm, which is more like 5'4 and a bit. Some pictures have him actually taller than guys in his weight class. If he were 5'1 165, he'd look way freakier than that even

Ya i was confused. Why was he training legs that close to the show. I geuss everyone has diff ways but i thought no training legs 5 days out was a general rule so they dont flatten out.

I dunno whatever the case that guy is small in weight but has some freakyyyy vascularity and is peeled. Hope he does good..

why? does it deplete too much needed energy?

Basically any kind of damage done to a muscle no matter how small will make you hold water blurring separation and striations. On another note, bodybuilders also don't pump up legs backstage as they do chest or arms as too much blood will also do the same.

as far as I understand it's a matter of drying out and the ability to contract during posing. You don't do any pump up in legs either when backstage. They get enough squeeze and contraction during posing plus it's easy to pump quads too much thus washing out lines/cuts.

I don't know the technical reason tho. I just know that I or anyone else I know who competes trains legs in the last week. Saturday or Sunday is usually yhe last day.

I figured he was going light but muscle damage can even occur with isometric contractions.

He does know what he's doing no question. But it is contrary to what the masses typically do which is why we're surprised to find him doing leg training 4 days out.
