Just wondering if any of you rig/oil sands workers know of anyone looking for welders or labourers right now. I'm certified with the CWB, but willing to do bitch work too. No decent jobs where Im at right now so looking to move on to greener grass so to speak.

Things are going to pick up soon bro....Look into ft.mac....Its opened up several big jobs that were on hold for awhile......

Get your resume done up and post on monster or workopolis...Then recruiters can view you...There are several openings on workopolis im told.....

There are signs all over for companies looking for people but as GB said breakup is right around the corner especially with this warm weather, if it keeps up.

savanna energy and ensign/champion drilling still looking for entry level guys. As are lots of others be prepared to be sent up north maybe even bc this time of the year. Check the job bank for the fax numbers. Forget about bulking.

With breakup here you may be hard pressed for oil field work but you never know....good luck !

Yes,it is slowing down but get a resume out or an online application with the drilling contractors.After break up the drilling industy will be going hard again.
I just finished up in s/e sask,and am going back to alberta for more work in alberta.I might have 2 - 3 weeks off.Then back at it.

breakup is coming very quick, i got turned back this morning, and saw lots of equipment coming into town today.
good thing i have facility work to do to tide me over :)

still have seen places advertising for workers, signs up for Savanna (rigs), precision testing (flow testers) have been up for a while now.

and there is always tim hortons, you get a free uniform and get to work with the bacon eating ladies.

if you want to put your welder exp to use, pm me your details and i can pass it on to a couple of places i deal with if you like. they wouldn't be subsistence paying jobs though, more of a permanent placement thing if something is available.

ft. mac is great $$ if you can put up with camp life.
