The only study I know of, and I did a term paper on it, was that gun violent crime was NOT reduced in the one Georgian town of 20,000-30,000 that made it mandatory for homeowners to have a gun. This was an extreme case obviously because everyone had a gun at home. I don't know how it pans out in other cities.

To be honest with you, I love any kind of weapons, knives and guns. I had all kinds of knives like butterfly and hunting knives as a kid. Ninja throwing stars and and an actual sword. Thought it was the coolest shit ever. Got a compound bow at the age of 10 and a bb gun just to play around with as a teen. My dad wanted to get me a hand gun at a very early age as well like around 11.

The RCMP never called a single one of my references, and of all the friends I have with PALs and restricted, none of their references were called either.

Obviously you wont write "for self defense" on the application, if you have any common sense you dont write that.

Pretty much, if you dont have any kind of robbery, assault or murder on your record, you will get your restricted. Most murderers arent too concerned as to whether or not they're allowed to drive around with their handgun so like others are saying, all it really does is sticks it to the law abiding man.

lol well, I am a law abiding man, and I have 30 guns including 3 restricted that have a convey permit to and from any range. Even allows for overnight stays at hotels.

I've been around firearms for a long time, never have i heard of a "Convey permit", what is this and where can i find the documents so i can apply for such a permit?? the CFC list nothing of that sort on their website only ATT's and ATC's which unless your an armed guard your not getting a ATC, are you a trapper or do you shoot in comps??? My ATT (authorization to transport) only allows me to travel to and from the range, i am 100% positive it does not allow me to stay overnight in a motel lol. ill have to look though.

here it is. blanket permit to convey to and from any range, gunsmith, or border crossing. 24/7. For Canadian blanket permit, I need to call and upgrade it when/if I start to shoot nationally. If you guys have a restricted, and do not have a blanket permit to convey as listed, then call and ask why not and get more information.

Provincial staturtes can vary from province to province in Canada...what applies to your ATC or ATT in Alberta may not be appicable in Ontario, etc.
The Registry is National....the administration of the gun laws is left up to each individual province within a certain guideline....hence Waderow can have his collection and permit to carry within Alberta ONLY.....if he were to travel to Ontario, he would have to apply for a whole different set of permits and likely not enjoy as much gun freedom as he does in AB.

Not tring to call you a liar at all. Your ATT looks the same as mine. I do shoot i belong to 2 different ranges 1 because our family has always shot there and the other because it's cheap and the gives me the combo to the gate so i can shoot anytime i want. there i can draw from my holster as well.
