I went to the mall a couple of days ago and looked at walmart. Nope, plenty of knee length shorts but no speedo's.

I'm guessing they have gone out of fashion since my youth. While this is for the best I was thinking they would make a good pair of simple posing shorts.

Try checking out that Swim Wear store in Polo Park mall, which is upstairs beside Zeller's.

for comp. I'd feel pretty silly in a speedo in public. I figured a black speedo would relatively conservative and easy to find locally.

I'm not really up for a quasi thong banana hammock.

Find out where all the old Italian men shop for their bathing attire.

Almost all the online posing shorts are dare I say it. Gay. I'm not sure what the hell they are thinking. I could get more coverage with a jock strap.

A simple, not shiny, black speedo that actually covers my ass will be just fine. If I ever manage to have striated glutes I will not be sharing this with the public.

IW found his online and they convered everything well, very simple style speedo. They weren't the string style.

I ordered my posing suit on BB.com and it was like 25 bucks. I got a blue and black one and man believe me they dont show your ass. there not like thongs. and afterall if your competing you want to blend in to the crowd with your suit so the judges focus on your physique and arent distracted by you wearing a diff suit.

Careful with sizing though. I thought i was a large. and it fit when i was dieting down but by the time i competed i was a medium and the large made me have a saggy ass. this was long time ago. I keep trying to forget about that show lol.

Good to have 2 pairs though. you never know when something might go wrong. Black won't show the protan stains. Night show usually you get more colorful.

google "Monkey buisness", they are a winnipeg buisness that does posing trunks for some of our guys.

also try discreet boutique

I know a few ladies who make custom ones... there is a lady who does all the "contest prep" athletes suits, I have her name and number if you are interested in custom...

Order it online. I've gotten all my posing suits on Ebay and had no problems so far. They should have the sizing and the style/cut on the website with pictures to show what the suit will look like on. Just get a more modest cut posing suit.

I want the opposite of a custom suit. I don't really like what I see in men's posing trunks. Something like this only with thicker material in flat black is about what I want.

^^^translation.....I have a small unit and i feel flat black will hide my little wee-wee....The thicker material will hide the eyes of the potatoe much better...!!!

Exactly, plus the assured benefit of having my wife taunt me relentlessly till the day I die.

Just a thought, but you might ask one of the mods with judging experience. When I did my show I wanted to retro looking trunks because I have the shiny ones of todays era. Couple people advised me against it saying the new trunks show more skin/definition so the more you cover it could hurt you. Hell I even had some judges comment on the angle of my trunks before because I wanted them flat out instead of pulled high.

I really don't give a shit about what the judges think of my trunks. At my advanced age I reserve the right to be a curmudgeon. I'm also fairly indifferent about outcomes other than not embarrassing myself.

If my upper body continues to do well I might actually place in the heavy weight novice class in about 2-3 years if none of the real bodybuilders show up in the class. I will almost certainly never have the physique to place in the provincials in the heavy weight division.

That being the case I can pretty much wear whatever the hell I please.

Worse than being a 40+ novice I will also probably max out at the bottom of the heavy weight class. Right now I can just barely fit into the light heavy's but I need another 10-15 pounds on my upper body to balance out my legs. I'll likely be pretty close to my max genetic potential weight at the point as well. I seem to be following the high end of the growth curve (20-25 pounds year 1, 10 pounds year 2). I'm going to shoot for >10 pounds this year with better diet management but I won't be shocked if the result is 5-7 pounds).

Don't get me wrong I am obscenely happy with the results it just that I'm not going to compare well to a 5' 6" 220 pounder with 15 years of consistent lifting and great genetics.
