This has been bugging me for a while so I'm just going to say it. Your slogan sucks. I highly doubt anybody buys from trueprotein because newbies believe in made-up supplement marketing hype. I mean come on.

Who do you think buys Muscletec products bro? A perfect example of supplement marketing hype.

Your slogan says, "Newbies believe in made-up supplement marketing hype, that's why professional bodybuilders and athletes come to us"

Do you really think professional bodybuilders and athletes make their purchasing decisions based on what newbies believe? I don't think they could care less and make their purchasing decisions based on quality, consistency, service, and price. The slogan is obviously an attempt to hook newbies to purchase from trueprotein while at the same time making rather irrational claims. I'm just sayin'.

I think your interpretation of it is a little off PdH, lol. Its the marketing hype, nothing to do with newbies.

I think you are misinterpreting the slogan bro.......
It says they arent into marketing hype, where do you ever see their marketing hype...In other words newbies go to muscletech etc because of their marketing hype, and others go to truprotein because they are quality.......
Its a slogan, dont read to much into it...lol;)

I can see what PDH is saying. If they wanted to get the point across clearer it should read "Newbies believe in made-up supplement marketing hype. Professional bodybuilders and athletes come to us" This would infer that newbs go elsewhere and pros go to them independently.

The second part of the statement in the original slogan is dependent on the first. For instance....It could also read "Newbies believe in the magic of Twinkies, that's why professional bodybuilders and athletes come to us" This infers because newbs believe in Twinkies pro go to them. Leaving one to believe that pros first consider what newbs do and do the opposite.

This is sloppy English. It is one of my pet peeves too.

Actually, in terms of marketing its not even a slogan. It's a positioning statement and a shitty, poorly worded one at that which leaves people more confused than interested.

Marketing doesn't have to mean hype. Marketing can be effective with truth and honesty which is what TP is trying to do but unfortunately they are confusing their target audience more than they are interesting them.

Newbies buy MuscleTech because they don't know any better. They don't know their is a difference. Smart marketing is reaching that audience and teaching them there is a difference AND that said difference isn't in the product but in the cost of the product.

TP is a solid company but they could do so much better in terms of positioning and reaching a wider audience. Perhaps said audience wouldn't be their primary market initially (newbies for example) but overtime those newbies convert into their target audience but because they've failed to market to them now they likely won't convert them later on or rather it will be harder to convert them later on.

Anyway, I digress. lol
