Any pros or cons to utilize in a keto diet?

assuming you mean for the shake meals and the "fatty" meat meal?
I can't see why not but I'm not one to deviate from the standard so I really can't say for sure. Maybe P or Ubc can chime in.

I have walnut, almond, avacado, olive, and macadamia in my collection at the moment. I would lose my mind if I couldn't change flavours occassionally.

I can't see that as I'm on my BB but I'll say that P had zero problems with cashews being in my diet. In fact it was one of the options on the plan.
And for the person who said its too easy to consumer carbs with nuts. Its easy to consume carbs with anything which is why you have a plan and follow it.

1oz
P5/C9/F12
could find a hundred different things to eat which would be as satisfying, with P5/F12 and less carbs

How many cashews do you think you'll be eating? The count is 1/3 cup per day in the lean meat (chicken, turkey, tilapia) meal.
Apparently you folks think it's acceptable to go hog wild or something?
Cashews are perfectly acceptable.

I'm not taking anything as an attack. Just saying if the resident keto expert on his forum (Praetorian) has no issues with them then they are fine. He runs a tight ship with what is and isn't allowed on the diets and for him to specifically say they are acceptable is proof enough to me that they cause no problems.
Do what you want as it does not matter to me but rest assured cashews are PERFECTLY acceptable on a keto diet.

Yeah and some try to reinvent the wheel when the wheel works perfectly fine as is.
Have at'er!
The "thinking" comes from knowing when to manipulate the diet and cardio plans.
Since you are going to be running getting try and find as good fibre supplement. The constant bloated feeling sucks ass as does the gas I find. It's funny, I could eat junk food crap every day for a week and not have ANYWHERE near the bloating or gas issues as I do with keto and I take digestive enzymes and probiotics to try and help aleviate some of those issues :( I hope it works out better for you with less issues in that area otherwise you'll be sleeping alone haha

I suspect it was more the butters with the shakes than the raw nuts but who knows.
All I do know is a pathetic amount of food. High calories but low in quantity of food. 30 seconds and food is done. Good thing the fat keeps the hunger away lol

yesterday was first day.
Had a slight head ache, and felt loopy before bed.
Today is much better.
My training has been shitty though. I have hardly lifted in the last month. Letting shoulders heal, and they are almost all better. Going to be doing a higher volume routine probably starting next week

will catabolize muscle with high volume on keto?
I meant 12-15 reps by high volume
ironwill

High volume and to long of workouts can be catabolic on keto....but it depends on how much volume i suppose...one mans hi volume is another mans medium volume.....
Remember your glycogen stores arent what they are when ingesting carbs.....

for workouts try to find some of P's writings on this and stick to his rep ranges - 6 reps first set, 8 2nd set and 10 on the 3rd.
Workouts max to 75 mins not including cardio. Def don't want high volume or high reps. Remember you want to lift heavy enough to keep the muscles hard.

understood
I just wanted to take it easy. This go around for me has seen great results, but I have encountered a fair bit of discomfort in my tendons and joints. Mostly arms and shoulders. Was doing too heavy of lifts where I think I should have done higher volume instead. Close grip pressing 315 killed my elbows. Would sooner have done 20 at 225 versus the 5 at 315 or whatever.
I will lift what I am comfortable with at a 6-8-10 rep range and see how it goes.

^^^werd...Keep the muscles hard, and working so they (muscles) dont adjust to lighter weights and then you could shrink....They customize to what you do to them....Dieting mode is maintaining the muscles you have as much as possible.....Focus on your negatives as much as possible as well during this time...IMO

In addition to the boatload of digestive shit I was taking along with some "cleanse" products I was also doing exlax once a week and suppositories as well.
This is the ONLY issue I have with a keto diet and what makes less sense is I was probably taking in about 45grams of fiber/day. wtf?
