I used on of those in a gym many years ago. I liked the wind. It was actually a pretty decent machine.

Used to use one of these. Absolutely loved it. I know they are quite popular with the crossfit community.
For $10 that is a huge bargain, they are pretty expensive new, I was looking at picking one up as it makes cardio a little easier to do when the fan is running on you.
Tabata intervals on these are insane.

It'll come in handy when you cut using DP keto. hell 2.5 hours a day on that thing. lol Better put it in the living room in front of the TV.

As for the calories burned, that is best approximated using your heart rate. So get a little heart rate monitor and you're set! :D

If it's only 6 feet from the TV...perhaps invest into headphones and an extension ;)
Calories from Heart Rate:
http://www.braydenwm.com/calburn.htm
In calories/minute:
Men: C/min = (-55.0969 + 0.6309 x HR + 0.1988 x weight + 0.2017 x age) / 4.184
